Abstract:
A power sourcing equipment (PSE) (20) exhibiting a low power sleep mode, the PSE constituted of: a sleep control circuitry (110) comprising a first timer (120); an effective resistance threshold detector (130) responsive to the sleep control circuitry (110) and arranged to detect whether the effective resistance across the output port of the PSE is less than a predetermined threshold; and a detection and powering circuitry (100) responsive to the sleep control circuitry (110), wherein the sleep control circuitry (110) is arranged to load the first timer (120) with a first predetermined time period, and at the expiration of the first predetermined time period: activate the effective resistance threshold detector (130) for a second predetermined time period; and in the event the effective resistance threshold detector (130) detects that the effective resistance across the output port of the PSE is less than the predetermined threshold, enable the detection and powering circuitry (100).
Abstract:
Abstract:
In a first embodiment of the present invention, a method for performing home networking media transport negotiation by a control point in a home network is provided, the method comprising: issuing a browse command on a content directory service in the home network to locate a custom resource element; and issuing an action to a media renderer in the home network to set a location of a media server to serve the item, wherein the issuing includes passing item metadata stored in the custom resource element, thus enabling the media renderer to negotiate directly with the media server while conveying detailed information about capabilities of the media renderer.
Abstract:
A method for managing in an Energy Management System (EMS) is provided. The method includes receiving, from a mobile terminal, a user command for at least one target smart appliance controlled by the EMS; determining, upon receiving the user command, determining whether the at least one target smart appliance includes at least one power-controlled smart appliance, wherein each power-controlled smart appliance operates in a power control mode; generating, upon a determination that there is at least one power-controlled target smart appliance, a notice message for informing the mobile terminal that the at least one power-controlled target smart appliance operates in the power control mode, and sending the notice message to the mobile terminal; and determining, upon receiving a response message to the sent notice message, whether to continue the power control mode of the at least one power-controlled smart appliance according to selection information included in the response message.
Abstract:
A network switch (5) for example a PoE switch, is operable to control supply of electrical power to individual luminaires (1,2) in a lighting network. The luminaires receive both electrical power for operation and signals to switch on and off through a common cable connection (9) such as an Ethernet connection. When switched on, each luminaire sends a signal repeatedly towards the Po E switch until switched off and the switch (5) supplies power to the luminaire whilst successive signals are received within a period less than a predetermined shut off period (Δ). In this way, power to the luminaire can be disconnected to avoid comsumption of standby power when not in use.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for communication connection service. Identification information of a second device is acquired. An inquiry about whether to register the second device as a favorite device is displayed. A registration request message is sent to a server, when a request to register the second device as the favorite device is inputted in response to the inquiry. The registration request message includes the identification information of the second device. A registration response message is received from the server in response to the registration request message. A user interface of the first device is controlled to provide feedback informing of a success or a failure in registering the second device as the favorite device based on the registration response message.
Abstract:
Systems and method for providing for decoupled application extensions to a remote access application. The application extensions are provided as part the remote access application to provide features and functionalities that otherwise are not provided by underlying the application programs that are made available by the remote access program. These features and functionalities may be provided without a need to modify the underlying application program, as they are integral with the remote access application.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a home appliance which can communicate with an outside of the home appliance, an online system including the same and a method for using an online system. According to embodiments of the present invention, a home appliance, an online system and a method for using an online system may be provided, each including a WiFi communication module mounted or connected to the home appliance for supporting a setting mode for making communication connection and a use mode for enabling communication, and a particular input unit provided to run the setting mode by user's selection, wherein the home appliance is changed to the use mode upon reception of SSID (Service Set Identifier; a name of a wireless LAN) information of an access point AP desired to access and user information required for registration of the home appliance through an external terminal after access to the setting mode through the external terminal provided separate from the home appliance.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and system for managing telephony services in a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) home network environment. In one embodiment, a method includes creating one or more profiles associated with at least one Telephony Control Point (TelCP) in an UPnP home network environment, each of the one or more profiles includes one or more service settingsassociated with telephony services. The method also includes storing the one or more profiles associated with the at least one TelCP in a service settingsdatabase. Additionally, the method includes setting one of the one or more profiles as an active profile for the at least one TelCP, and providing telephony services to the at least one TelCP according to the one or more service settings associated with the active profile.
