A resettable cutout sectionalizer uses a modified trunnion member including a bridge and a modified cutout hinge including at least one blocking flange. One actuated, the spring-loaded sectionalizer latching pin actuates to free the sectionalizer which is rotated open by the rotation of the trunnion. The trunnion rotates open and then is blocked from further rotation in a first direction by the bridge contacting the blocking flange(s) of the cutout hinge. To reset the device, the sectionalizer body is rotated against the blocking flange which causes the latching flange of the trunnion to cam against the latching pin to overcome the spring bias and push it back into the reset position.

A cover apparatus (200) can cover an electrical insulator (208) and an electrical conductor(210). The cover apparatus (200) includes one or more leg sections for covering a portion of the electrical conductor (210). The cover apparatus includes a cover section coupled to the one or more leg sections and covering a portion of the electrical insulator (208). The cover section includes a body portion and an adjustable portion coupled to the body portion at a coupling location. The adjustable portion can be adjusted such that a dimension of the adjustable portion is adjusted according to a dimension of the electrical insulator (208). An example method of forming a cover apparatus (200) for covering an electrical insulator (208) and an electrical conductor (210) is also provided.

An aerial roller spacer apparatus and related methods thereto are provided. The aerial roller spacer apparatus includes a spacer body. At least one saddle is formed on the spacer body. A spacer arm is connected to the spacer body at a first end, wherein the spacer arm extends away from the spacer body. A roller assembly is positioned proximate to a second end of the spacer arm, wherein the roller assembly has two rotatable roller halves that are removably engagable with one another with at least one fastener. A messenger groove is formed between the two rotatable roller halves.

An avian nesting diverter system for inhibiting a bird from building a nest on a structure includes a base and a spring member. The base is adapted to be mounted on the structure. The spring member has first and second ends. The first and second ends are secured to the base and the spring member extends over the base. The spring member presents a resilient, unstable platform for a bird attempting to perch on the spring member. The spring member also presents an impediment to a bird attempting to perch on the base.

The invention relates to a signalling device (1) for an aerial transmission line (2) comprising two signalling elements (3, 4) which are configured to be mounted one against the other around a conductor portion (2) of the transmission line, in which at least one of the two signalling elements (3, 4) comprises at least partially an outer signalling coating in the context of air safety, which device is characterised in that the two signalling elements (3, 4) are at least partially electrically conductive and at least one of the two signalling elements (3, 4) comprises a clamping means (5) which is configured to clamp the conductor portion (2) of the transmission line. The invention also relates to a method for assembling such a device on a high-voltage aerial transmission line.

Con el fin de resolver la deficiente señalética que proteja al hombre y a la avifauna de chocar con las instalaciones en altura del tipo que sean, es que surgió la presente invención: dispositivos de demarcaciones consistentes en elementos esféricos, tubulares o helicoidales giratorios y rotativos con móviles independientes, de giro libre, desplazables, de alta visibilidad y sonoros. En el caso de la versión esférica, su estructura externa, compuesta por dos aros de tubos montados en forma perpendicular entre sí de material inerte anticorrosivono metálico y de alto dieléctrico como el PVC u otro similar con protección para los rayos ultra violeta y, con perforaciones que al soplar del viento reinante emite sonidos gira sobre su eje que lo constituye la barra, antena, torre de aisladores o cable sobre el que se instalará. En sus ejes transversales compuestos de rayos del mismo material de los aros exteriores pero de conformación maciza, se encuentran los elementos giratorios con forma de aspas o hélices de caras planas y superficies de colores demarcatorios u otro y calidad fotoluminicentes y reflectantes, siendo éstas cuatro u ocho según el modelo que se emplee y con perforaciones para su sonido independiente. The present invention is an electrically non-conductive transformer lid that may replace the top of the housing of a transformer or be attached to the housing of a transformer. The lid may isolate an animal that is in contact with the lid from the ground grid, even if the animal attempts to make contact with the energized primary conductor or other apparatuses. The present invention thereby prevents electric current from flowing through the animal's body to the ground and prevents outages or electric faults from occurring. It may be attachable to a variety of known types of transformers, including pole-mounted distribution transformers. The means of attaching and removing the lid may be performed by a single person. The lid may be shaped to prevent moisture or other particulates from entering the transformer and thereby further protect the function of the transformer.

The invention relates to a system and a probe unit for monitoring on-line temperature of high voltage cables in air stretches, comprising of at least one optical fibre attached to the cable, and said optical fibre comprising of at least one Bragg grating (FBG) with known reflection characteristics, a light source for transmitting light within a known range of wavelengths into said optical fibre, and measuring devices for detection of light reflected from said Bragg grating(s) in the fibre and for recognizing light reflected from each Bragg grating based on their known reflection characteristics and their unique correspondence with temperature of the Bragg grating. The Bragg grating is mounted in a probe, the probe being mounted in and thermally coupled to a housing being mounted on and thermally coupled to the cable, wherein the probe has a cylindrical shape and is mounted in the housing in an opening having essentially the same cross section as the probe but a length exceeding the length of the probe, so as to allow for mutual variations in the temperatures between the probe and housing without subjecting the Bragg grating to strain.

Disclosed herein is a control cable assembly with dampening. In one implementation, a shifter assembly for a vehicle transmission, may include a shifter adapted to move between at least two positions corresponding to different modes of operation of the transmission, a cable connection feature associated with the shifter, and a cable connected to the cable connection feature and adapted to be connected to the transmission such that movement of the shifter is transmitted to the transmission by the cable. The cable may include a conduit, a core received within the conduit, and a dampener connected to the conduit. The dampener in the preferred embodiment bends the conduit and engages the core with the conduit.
