    Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer system and a computer program product evaluate multimedia quality. The method includes displaying a current frame of a video. The method also includes generating dataframes for the current frame and for a reference frame of the video. The method further includes comparing the dataframes for the reference and current frames. In addition, the method includes determining a quality metric of the current frame based on the comparison of the dataframes for the reference and current frames. Finally, the method includes modifying the current frame so that the quality metric is at or above the threshold in response to determining that the quality metric of the current frame is below a threshold.

    Abstract: A method includes: mapping a boundary of a volume of flowing fluid; partitioning the volume by a computational mesh; finding a contaminant location at a first sensor that is disposed within the volume; obtaining a measured velocity of the flowing fluid within the volume; generating a reversed velocity vector field within the mesh, in response to the measured velocity; time stepping the contaminant location from the first sensor along the reversed velocity vector field until the contaminant location intersects the boundary of the volume; and finding a contaminant source at the intersection of the time stepped contaminant location with the boundary of the volume.

    Abstract: A system for determining a region of interest in an image. The system includes a memory and an electronic processor. The electronic processor included in the system is connected to the memory and is configured to initialize internal states of nodes of a spatial lattice. Each node of the spatial lattice corresponds to a pixel of the image and is connected to at least one node representing a neighboring pixel of the image. The electronic processor is also configured to iteratively update, using a neural network, the internal states of each nodes in the spatial lattice using spatially gated propagation and identify the region of interest within the image based on the internal states of the nodes at a convergence of the spatial lattice. The electronic processor is configured to creating an image pyramid for the image.
