    摘要: A method of making a ceramic glaze formulation having an antimicrobial property for use with a ceramic article. The method comprises fritting an antimicrobial formulation in a flux frit, providing least one unfritted antimicrobial component, providing a silver carrier in a glass matrix, and combining the flux frit, the at least one unfritted component, and the silver carrier in the glass matrix to form the ceramic glaze formulation. The silver carrier is combined at an addition rate based on a dry weight basis of the ceramic glaze formulation. A ceramic glaze additive formulation and ceramic glazed article are also provided.

    摘要: A disinfectant formulation is provided imparting a residual biocidal property. The disinfectant formulation is used to treat a surface to impart a film having a capacity to quickly kill bacteria and other germs for at least 24 hours after deposit of the film on a treated surface. The disinfectant formulation comprises a polymer binder, wherein the polymer binder is an oxazoline homopolymer or an extended or a modified polymer based on an oxazoline homopolymer, and a biocidal compound. The disinfectant formulation further comprises a carrier. An article having the disinfectant formulation is provided as well as methods of making, using and applying the disinfectant formulation.

A metal in each of the metal based compounds is selected from the group consisting of silver, copper, zinc, mercury, tin, lead, bismuth, barium, cadmium, chromium, titanium, and a combination thereof. Another biocidal additive formulation comprises a silver containing glass particle, ZnO, and Bi 2 O 3 . A glass substrate possessing a durable biocidal property and an article possessing a durable biocidal property are also provided.

    摘要: A method and a test for using carbonic anhydrase (CA), particularly CA-I or CA-II, as a biomarker of hemolysis. The method and test detect hemolysis by determining a percentage erythrocyte hemolysis in a specimen or sample of blood based upon quantification of carbonic anhydrase present in the extracellular portion of the blood. The method and test serve to optimize therapeutic efficacy for treatments of hemolysis. Plasma carbonic anhydrase is used to determine the percentage hemolysis in plasma. Furthermore, CA is quantified with specificity to the isozyme present in the plasma.
