Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine lagerstabile wässrige Biozidzusammensetzung, in Form einer Dispersion, enthaltend die Komponenten: (a) 1 bis 20 1,2-Benzisothiazolin-3-on (BIT) und/oder dessen Alkalimetallsalze, (b) 10 bis 70 Gew.-% Tetramethylolacetylendiharnstoff (TMAD), (c) 0,5 bis 20 Gew.-% einer oder mehrere Zinkkomponente(n) ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Zinkoxyd (ZnO), Zinkhydroxid (Zn(OH) 2 ), Zinkcarbonat (ZnCO 3 ) und Mischungen davon und ad. 100 % Wasser. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner Verfahren zur Herstellung dieser Biozidzusammensetzungen sowie deren Verwendung zum Schutz von technischen Materialien und Produkten vor Befall und Zerstörung durch Mikroorganismen.

Disclosed is a particulate composition comprising at least 10 % by weight oligodynamic silver- coated sand particles, said oligodynamic sand particles having diameter in the range of 50 to 10,000 µm and being composed of etched sand particles carrying elemental silver deposit, wherein the oligodynamic sand particles have a total silver content of 10 to 5,000 mg/kg and wherein not more than 30 % by weight of the silver contained in the oligodynamic sand particles is present in the form of nanoparticles having diameter of 100 nm or more. The treated sand particles deliver a silver ion leach of desired value in the range of 50 to 200 ppb by weight. The oligodynamic silver coated sand particles of the present invention exhibit prolonged, constant anti-microbial activity and do not suffer from uncontrolled leaching.

Spoilage resistant packaging includes one or more anti-spoilage agents in the form of an anti-microbial agent in an amount effective to prevent or reduce the chance of spoilage of an item stored in the packaging due to microorganisms. A preferred form of the anti-microbial agent is a composition containing silver or a silver component, such as silver compound. In one form the silver compound is, an inorganic salt of silver, optionally combined together with another metal or other anti-microbial agent. An effective dosage of the anti-microbial agent is incorporated into the material from which the packaging is manufactured so as to either contact directly the item being stored in the packaging or be released to the atmosphere or environment within the packaging to counteract the effects of spoilage of the item by microorganisms. The advantage of using the anti-microbial agent is that the shelf life of the item stored in the packaging is extended whilst preserving the qualities of the item, such as the organoleptic qualities, appearance and similar.

Said compositions are respectively termed male pheromone blend (MPB) and comprises 2-heptanone, 4-heptanone, 3-ethyl-2-heptanone, 2-octanone, 2-nonanone, and 4-nonanone in a ratio of 10: 100: 10: 1 : 1 : 10 respectively, or female pheromone blend (FPB) and comprises 2-methyl-butyric acid, 3 -methyl-butyric acid, heptanal, hexanoic acid, 2-phenylacetaldehyde, nonanal, and decanal in a ratio of 20:20: 10:30:5:20: 10. Devices including the rat attractant compositions, and methods of using said rat attractant compositions, are also disclosed.
