Wiping compositions are disclosed well suited for destroying various different microorganism very quickly. The wiping composition contains a tertiary alkyl amine biocide in combination with one or more other components. The wiping composition, for instance, may contain a pH adjustor, chelating agent, one or more surfactants, and water as a liquid carrier. In one embodiment, the composition can be formulated to contain various organic solvents that increase efficacy against mycobacteria. The wiping composition is particularly well suited to being impregnated into a disposable wipe.

The invention relates to a preparation comprising a) 10 to 80% by weight of α,α',α"- trimethyl-1,3,5-triazine-1,3,5-(2H,4H,6H) triethanol (TTT) and b) one or more additives selected from i) ammonia, ii) alkanolamines with primary amino group and alkyl group having at most eight carbon atoms and iii) alkylamines with primary amino group and alkyl group having at most eight carbon atoms, where the weight ratio a):b) is in the range from 100:30 to 100:1. The preparation is present as semi-concentrate and has an advantageously lower viscosity, is moreover storage-stable, in particular storage-stable over a long period.

A composição adjuvante desta invenção compreende uma ou mais derivado alcoxilado de uréia, podendo conter ainda outros surfactantes. A nova composição adjuvante descrita nesta invenção pode ser incorporada em formulações herbicidas que contêm sais de glifosato dentre eles de MIPA, potássio, MEA, TEA ou suas misturas. Essas formulações herbicidas podem ainda conter outros herbicidas em sua composição. Essas formulações herbicidas contendo glifosato podem ser utilizadas em caldas de pulverização para controle de ervas daninhas. Além de ser compatível com diversos sais de glifosato em diferentes concentrações, a composição adjuvante desta invenção mostrou ser capaz de melhorar a estabilidade e a eficácia agronômica destas formulações.

An approach to identify and evaluate potential insecticide targets using publicly available genome (DNA) sequence information for arthropod disease vector is provided. The utility of this approach is demonstrated by first determining the molecular and pharmacological properties of two different dopamine (neurotransmitter) receptors identified in the genome of the yellow fever- and dengue-transmitting mosquito, Aedes aegypti. Next, different chemistries were tested for their ability to interact with one of these dopamine receptors in a chemical compound screen, and "hit" compounds were identified. Finally, it is shown that some of these chemistries, are selective for the mosquito over the human dopamine receptor and that these chemistries caused significant mortality in mosquito larvae 24 hours after exposure.
