The present invention disloses anthraquinone compound according to Formula (1) or its pharmaceutical acceptable salts, prodrug and solvates thereof for use in suppressing the expression of mutated KRAS and mutated p53 genes in colorectal cancer cell. In a specific embodiment, the anthraquinone compound according to Formula (1) is also generally named with the chemical compound name of morindone. The anthraquinone compound according to Formula (1) is able to suppress the expression of mutated KRAS and mutated p53 genes of the colorectal cancer cell to prevent the colorectal cancer cells therapies resistance and poor prognosis.

The present invention disclosed a throttle body (10) of the motorcycle comprising a throttle body housing (20); a cylinder-shaped valve assemble (30); and a valve cover plate (40). Unlike the conventional throttle body, the invented throttle body (10) is constructed without any shaft or butterfly plate blocking the flow of the air into the engine. The throttle body (10) invented according to the present invention consists of the cylinder-shaped valve assemble (30) that is able to be rotated within throttle body housing (20) between the air flow open and close position. The cylinder-shaped valve assemble (30) further consists of a cylindrical opening (32) which can be fully and widely opened and able to enhance the air flow into the engine and further magnify the engine power.

An all fibre based optical microphone with dual wavelength fibre laser and fibre laser dynamics operating principles is fabricated according to the present invention to settle the difficulty of sound sensing using optical fibre without any intermediate or diaphragm. The optical microphone developed according to the present invention consists of a Single Mode Fibre (SMF), a 980 nm laser diode, a Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM), a single channel SMF output, an Erbium Doped Fibre (EDF), a 1 x 16 Arrayed Waveguide Gratings (AWG) with 16 channels (SMF) output (with jacket) and 2 channels SMF (without jacket) connected to the chosen channels as acoustic waves sensing element. The optical microphone can be used under harsh environment such as high electromagnetic interference especially for medical instruments like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and able to bend into any sensor shape to fit in to any position. The optical microphone also can be used as hydrophone as it functions normally even under water.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a system which consists of 4 pairs of primers that specifically detect Salmonella spp., S. Typhi and S. Paratyphi A with an internal control. The system, when applied in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) under specific conditions, reaction mixture and cycling temperatures produce four bands 784bp, 496bp, 332bp and 187bp. The DNA band 784bp is present in all Salmonella spp., while the bands of 496bp and 332bp are only present in S. Paratyphi A and S. Typhi respectively. An internal amplification control as indicated by the 187bp should be present in all the tests.

The present invention discloses a method of fiber pulling that the output optical fiber can sense radiation dose with very high sensitivity. In a specific embodiment, the method comprising steps of applying temperature with or without vacuum pressure onto a preform during optical fiber fabrication to form collapsed air holes optical fiber. The collapsed or fused area made in the invented fiber increases radiation dose sensitivity. The output fiber is not limited to any specific diameter, shape, single mode or multimode. The method can be applied for any diameter size, any shapes (flat, circle, hollow or solid), single mode, multi-mode and micro structured optical fibers. Also, the method can be used for doped or undoped or combination of them. The invented fiber can be used for detecting irradiation dose using either thermoluminescence or photo luminescence approaches.

A technique to increase the elastic compliance and plastic energy dissipation ability and reduce the aging effect of the low Ag-content Sn-Ag-Cu lead-free solder alloy is disclosed. In this particular exemplary embodiment, the technique may be realized as a Sn-Ag-Cu-Fe composition comprising (0.05-2) wt.% Ag, (0.05-5) wt.% Cu, (0.05-10) wt.% Fe, balanced with Sn.

This invention discloses obtaining of a multiplex PCR-based detection system targeting 5 types of Plasmodium sepsis ( P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. knowlesi, P. Malariae, P. ovale ). Generally, all novel primers used in the present invention were specially designed using bioinformatics approach. This system involved only 1 step PCR with specific optimized conditions. This PCR-based detection system is sensitive enough to detect particular plasmodium species at low parasitemia level.

The present invention disclosed a method to trace porcine DNA in a catgut suture by extracting the DNA from the catgut suture and analyzing the extracted DNA. The method of tracing porcine DNA in a catgut suture comprising steps of: homogenizing the catgut suture into a mixture of plant tissue lysis buffer and proteinase K; separating the DNA from the homogenous solution by using the column; and analyzing the extracted DNA by using polymerase chain reaction, PCR.

The present invention disclosed a medium-chain-length poly(3 -hydroxy alkanoates) (mcl-PHA) for use as natural based eco-friendly plasticizer for Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). In the present invention, mcl-PHA was bio synthesized by Pseudomonas putida PGAl via fermentation using oleic acid and palm kernel oil as renewable carbon source. Mcl-PHA is a source of green natural polymers which can be used to improve material properties of PVC. Compare with the conventional petrochemical based plasticizer, mcl-PHA would not be hazardous to human health and the environment due to the non-toxic, biodegradable and biocompatible properties.

Tenocytes are highly differentiated cells which have a limited potential for replication. Therefore, in vitro propagation of tenocytes may still not be able to supply enough seed cells for tendon tissue engineering. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are able to self-renew and capable to differentiate into multi lineage including tenocytes. Therefore, it is possible that MSCs could serve as seed cells in tendon tissue engineering. In the present invention, method and culture medium for promoting human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) differentiation into tenogenic lineage is provided.
