Abstract: A method and apparatus for suppressing vibration of a boom of a concrete pump vehicle, where a boom hydraulic cylinder (2) and a damping hydraulic cylinder (21) are connected to each other. A pressure monitoring unit real-time detects the oil pressure information and/or the concrete pump inverting information of the boom hydraulic cylinder (2), then the information collected will be sent to a control unit for damping hydraulic cylinder (72) to be analysed and treated. The proportion of the rod chamber (24) to the rodless chamber (22) of the damping hydraulic cylinder (21) can be adjusted reciprocally, thus the damping hydraulic cylinder (21)can produce pulsative vibration, which can induce subsequently the corresponding pulsative vibration of boom tip, with an amplitude less than or equal to that of vibration induced by non-continuous conveyance of concrete and an opposite phase.
