    Abstract: According to the present invention, a device (11) for re-aligning articles on a conveyor (13) comprises sensor means mounted transversely above a conveyor (13) for conveying articles, article handling means (17, 18) downstream of the sensor means and control means, wherein the control means determines the size, shape, and position of a target object on the conveyor (13) based on the output from the sensor means as the target object passes beneath the sensor means, and controls the operation the article handling means to move said target object to a predetermined position on the conveyor (13) wherein the article handling means (17, 18) comprises a target object engaging means adapted to be moveable in the direction of motion of the conveyor at the same speed as the conveyor whist the engaging means engages the target object and is adapted to engage and move the target object in a direction transverse to the direction of movement of the conveyor (13) in response to the control means, whereby the target object can be moved to a predetermined position on the conveyor (13) without requiring the conveyor to be halted. Preferably the target object engaging means (17, 18) is rotatable to enable to orientation of the target object on the conveyor (13) to be adjusted.

    Abstract: A hinge latch (10) configured for selectively releasable, pivotable hinging securement of one structural member (12) relative to another cooperative structural member (14), is comprised of a first hinge latch plate (20) in operative association with the first structural member, a second hinge latch plate (22) in operative association with the second structural member, a first (66) and a second (68) pintle member disposed for transverse reciprocable motion interiorly of the second hinge latch plate, each comprised of a hinge pin member (70), and a hinge pin plate (72) secured to the hinge pin and disposed in guiding receipt within a cooperative plate slot (82) interiorly of the second hinge latch plate; a biasing member (86) for urging each of the pintle members into a normal hinging configuration, and a latch actuator member (94) received interiorly of the second hinge latch plate for lateral movement therein, having an actuator stem (96) and a generally trapezoidal head (98) including opposed, diagonally disposed abutment edges (112) for mating engagement with the abutment edges of the first and second pintle members; wherein lateral displacement of the actuator stem with an unlatching force is translated across the abutment edges to a transverse force displacing the hinge pins transversely out of engagement with the hinge bores releasing the hinge latch plates and associated structural elements.
