Abstract: The present invention relates to a modified oligoester constituted by an oligoester (1) that, at one of the ends thereof has a group that reacts with organic acids or alcohols, forming covalent bonds, and at one or more of the other ends thereof has one or more cyclic acetal groups (2). In addition, processes are provided for the production of said modified oligoester, and also the use thereof in the production of polyester resins, coating compositions and composites, plus the process for producing said resins. The field of application of the present invention relates to the chemicals sector, particularly in relation to oligoesters modified with cyclic acetal groups.
