    Abstract: The invention relates to a marionette (1 ) comprising a figure (3) having a number of segments, wherein at least two segments (31, 33, 35, 37) are connected by means of steering strings (41, 43, 45, 47) with a control (2) device and at least two segments are substantially rigid. In order to provide a marionette of improved accuracy of representation of the figure with regard to the real object, that would also feature relatively simple construction and would be easier to operate, a connection between at least one active segment (31, 33, 35, 37), which is connected with the control device (2) by means of the steering string (41, 43, 45, 47) exiting the surface of this segment at the steering point (411, 431, 451, 471 ), and an adjacent segment comprises a convex contact surface (71, 731, 75) on one of these segments and a connection means (5, 81 ) exiting the surfaces of these segments at the connecting points (51, 521, 522, 531, 532, 55) which are displaceable with regard to each other. Furthermore a centroid (711, 7311, 751 ) of said convex contact surface (71, 731, 75) is located below the connecting point (51, 531, 55) of the segment comprising this convex contact surface (71, 731, 75), and in the predefined free overhang position of the figure (3) a straight line (312, 3321, 3322, 352) between the connecting point (51, 531, 532, 55) of said active segment (31, 33, 35) and the steering point (411, 431, 451 ) of this segment extends above the gravity centre (311, 331, 351 ) of this segment.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a marionette (1) comprising a figure (3) having a number of segments, wherein at least two segments are coupled by means of steering strings (4) with a control device (2), and a container (6) comprising at least two parts substantially matched to each other which after coupling them together form a space for the figure (3) of the marionette (1), steering strings (4) and the control device in the figure rest position. In order to enable for quick and easy packing the marionette figure (3) in the container (6) to a secured rest position as well as for quick and easy unpacking the figure (3) from the container (6), the marionette (1) is provided with elastically deformable stabilisation means (25) immobilising the figure (3) in its rest position in the interior of the container (6).
