Abstract: An apparatus/method for a conveyor belt lifter apparatus that can be manually-configured to accommodate differently-sized conveyor belts of conveyor systems. The apparatus includes a pair of lifts in between which a trough-shaped adjustable conveyor belt support arm is releasably-secured. An adjustable shaft coupler connects the lifts to allow simultaneous activation and movement of both lifts by an operator engaging only one lift. An adjustable base allows the apparatus to be adjusted for the conveyor system size. These adjustable components comprise segments that can be releasably secured using quick-release pins. The height of the ends of the conveyor belt support arm can also be manually adjusted to eliminate any gap between the conveyor belt and the support arm before lift activation. Each lift comprises a manually-controlled screw jack with an extender formed thereon to allow the lifter apparatus to raise/lower the particular conveyor belt once the lifter apparatus is installed.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for an automatically pivoting return side idler trainer for returning a drifting conveyor belt back to a central position during operation. The trainer includes a non-collinear shaft having ends fixed to the conveyor structure while a non-collinear tube is pivotally mounted to the shaft. A tapered roller element is rotatably mounted to the tube on each side of the pivotal mounting. The shaft and tube include an offset angle that is determined by the taper angle of the tapered roller elements such that when the trainer is installed, the profile of the roller elements form a level surface along the trainer, parallel to the belt return side, regardless if the belt has a straight or cupped profile. A second embodiment uses a non-collinear shaft to which the tapered roller elements are rotatably mounted and whereby the shaft itself is pivotally mounted to an external conveyor structure.

Abstract: A tensioning device (20) for adjusting the contacting/cleaning force of a scraper blade (16) on the surface of an endless conveyor belt (19) is provided for use on a shaft (18) supporting the scraper blade (16). Abstract: A one-piece remplacement sleeve (30) is provided for installation on a conveyor belt roller (50) to prolong the roller's wear life. The cylindrical, split sleeve has a central bore (36) to receive the roller and circumferential grooves (38) in the outer surface to receive fastening circlets (40) to fasten the sleeve to the roller. The sleeve has two radial slits (32, 34) oppositely disposed and extending axially along the entire length of the sleeve to facilitate easy installation and replacement of the sleeve. The slits allow the sleeve to be installed on the roller without the need to remove the roller from its journal mountings. The slits also allow the worn sleeve to be quickly and easily removed by cutting or otherwise removing the fastening circlets. Since the sleeve is formed of one piece of material, the sleeve wears concentrically, reducing vibrations in the conveyor belt assembly. The sleeve provides significant improvements over roller discs and two-piece roller sleeves in the prior art.
