Abstract: A tool 10 has a shaft 20 and a tip 80 on the shaft 20. The tip 80 supports rougher 50 and 60 and chipbreaker finisher wings 40a, 40a', 40b, and 40b' which, for example, may be polycrystalline diamond wings. Also, the rougher 50 and 60 and chipbreaker finisher wings 40a, 40a', 40b, and 40b' may be arranged, for example, to provide either upshear or downshear forces. As another example, both upshear and downshear rougher 50 and 60 and chipbreaker finisher wings 40a, 40a', 40b, and 40b' may be arranged to produce corresponding upshear and downshear forces.
