Abstract:
The present invention relates to a Mayo stand cover comprising a first and a second liquid-impermeable panel (1 and 2) which are mutually joined along two opposing long edges and a side edge which extends betwen two opposing ends of the long edges, wherein absorbent material (4) extends over at least a part of the outer surface of the first panel (1). According to the invention, the first panel (1) includes a pattern of projections (5) formed in the panel material and projecting outwardly from the inside thereof, wherein said pattern includes at least two discrete rows of projections which extend over the full length of the cover parallel with its long edges.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hot-melt adhesive composition. According to the invention, the composition includes at least two mutually bonded layers (1, 2) having mutually different properties. The invention also relates to a method of applying such a hot-melt adhesive composition and to the use of hot-melt adhesive as a release layer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an arrangement for manufacturing spunlace material, comprising a forming station (1) and an entangling station (2), wherein the forming station includes a first fibre former (6) for air-laying staple fibres, and a second fibre former (7) for air-laying short fibres on an underlying forming wire (8), on which the air-laid fibres are retained with the aid of a subpressure created in a suction box (15) positioned beneath the forming wire and with the aid of which the formed mat of fibres is transported to the entangling station (2). According to the invention, at least one screening element (16) is arranged beneath the fibre former (7) for short fibres such as to screen-off the subpressure and therewith create one or more regions on the forming wire on which no short fibres will be laid when the forming wire passes the fibre former (7) for short fibres. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing spunlace material and to an absorbent, disposable article which includes such spunlace material.
Abstract:
An absorbent material comprising a mat of dry-formed cellulose fibres integrated with an air-laid non-woven gauze of reinforcing textile fibres. A method of producing this material by air-laying textile fibres on a wire to form a non-woven gauze, whereafter a mat of cellulose fibres is formed on the textile fibre non-woven gauze. The use of the material as an absorbent structure in an absorbent product. A method of producing an absorbent structure comprised of cellulose fibres and reinforcing textile fibres in which a mat of dry-formed cellulose fibres integrated with an air-laid non-woven gauze of reinforcing textile fibres is defibred and mat-formed. An absorbent structure obtained by this method.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a surgical drape comprised of an absorbent sheet (1) and a fluid-impermeable sheet (2) attached thereto. According to the invention, the fluid-impermeable sheet (2) is provided with projections (3) on that side which lies distal from the absorbent sheet (1).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of hydroentangling a mixture of staple fibres and pulp fibres, which fibres have been formed on a forming wire with the pulp fibres lain on top of the staple fibres. The inventive method comprises the steps of: subjecting the formed fibrous web to a first entangling process on a fine-mesh wire; subjecting the entangled fibrous web to a second entangling process on a coarse-mesh wire; and transferring the entangled fibrous web obtained in the second entangling process to a fine-mesh entangling wire and there subjecting the web to a third entangling process. The invention results in a spunlace material having good wear resistance on the staple-fibre side.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to surface material (1) for absorbent articles such as diapers, sanitary napkines, incontinence guards and wound dressings, this surface material being intended to lie proximal to the wearer's skin in use. According to the invention, the surface material (1) includes a plurality of projections (2) on that side of the material which lies proximal to the wearer's skin in use, and a plurality of through-penetrating perforations (3) in regions lying outside the projections. The invention also relates to apparatus for manufacturing such surface material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing spunlace material in which there is formed a fibrous web by air-laying a layer of fibres of staple length on a forming wire and air-laying a layer of short fibres on top of the layer of staple fibres. According to the invention, the fibrous web is passed to an entangling wire (18) on which there is arranged at least one elongated element (17) whose diameter is much greater than the diameter of the wires (16) in the entangling wire (18), whereafter the fibrous web is entangled. The invention also relates to an arrangement for carrying out the method, and to a spunlace material produced in accordance with the method.
