Abstract:
Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are provided with electrode and pad structures, wich result in improved light extraction for the LED. The LED may be foremd as a die withan upper contact surface (28) and a lower contact surface (20,22). A mesa (24) including at least one generally vertical edge surface (26) projects upwardly from the lower contact surface. First and second pads (32, 34) are disposed on teh lower contact surface. The second pad desirably does not make ohmic contact with the lower contact surface. A conductive lead (36) is in bridging contact with the second pad and the upper contact surface of the mesa.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for implementing inventory pooling for multiple merchants. A first inventory of an item held at a first fulfillment center on behalf of a first merchant is contributed to a common pool of inventory. A second inventory of the item held at a second fulfillment center on behalf of a second merchant is contributed to the common pool of inventory. Fulfillment of an order placed by a customer of the first merchant is initiated from the second inventory of the item that was contributed by the second merchant to the common pool of inventory.
Abstract:
A bearing assembly (10) includes a first bearing race (18) having a first bearing raceway and a first track (72) positioned axially outside the first bearing raceway (34). The bearing assembly (10) also includes a second bearing race (22) having a second bearing raceway (74) axially aligned with the first bearing raceway (34) and a second track (72) positioned axially outside the second bearing raceway (74) and axially aligned with the first track (72). The bearing assembly (10) also includes a plurality of rolling elements (26) positioned between the first bearing race (34) and the second bearing race (74) in contact with the first and second bearing raceways (34, 74), and a gear (30) engaging the first and second tracks (72) to synchronize the movement of the rolling elements (26) and the first and second bearing races (18, 22).
Abstract:
An apparatus for endoscopic surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, heel spur syndrome, or other conditions requiring fibrous tissue division and a method for endoscopic treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome are disclosed which include a slotted cannula (16), an obturator for guiding the cannula into a body opening, an elevator, retractor, and a hooked surgical knife (39). The elevator and retractor are used in separating tissue at a surgical opening into the wrist, hand, foot or other location and the obturator and cannula (16) are inserted into the opening for endoscopic division of the carpal ligament, plantar fascia or other tissue. The obturator is removed and a videoarthroscope (52) is inserted in the one end of the cannula (16) while the knife (39) is inserted in the other end to permit direct observation of the procedure as the ligament is divided in one step. The instruments are very small and leave only small openings which reduce the trauma and facilitate early recovery from the surgical procedure.
