Abstract: A multi-core lithium ion battery (100) includes a sealed enclosure (116) and a support member (120) disposed within the sealed enclosure (116). The support member (120) includes a plurality of cavities and a plurality of lithium ion core members (102) which are disposed within the plurality of cavities. The battery further includes a plurality of cavity liners (124), each of which is positioned between a corresponding one of the lithium ion core members (102) and a surface of a corresponding one of the cavities.
