Abstract:
A connector with an integral fuse holder is described herein. The connector can include a portion having a fuse receiver disposed within a cavity and coupled to an electrical connection feature. The connector can include an end coupled to the portion, where the end includes a wall that forms a cavity. The connector can further include a fuse assembly having a contact member, a fuse, a fuse holder, and a conductor receiver. The contact member can couple to the electrical connection feature. The fuse holder can include a first end that couples to a top end of the fuse and the contact member, and a second end that couples to a bottom end of the fuse. The conductor receiver can couple to the second end of the fuse holder and to the bottom end of the fuse. A receiving feature of the conductor receiver can couple to a conductor.
Abstract:
A processor receives data associated with a device. On the basis of the data associated with the device, the processor modulates a light from the artificial light source at a rate imperceptible to a human eye while detectable by a light sensor device. The modulated light is representative of the data associated with the device. The modulated light is detected, demodulated, and decoded by the light sensor device to retrieve the data associated with the device. Further, the data associated with the device is presented by the light sensor device to a user. In addition, the light sensor device is configured to receive input data from the user and communicate the input data to the processor via a wireless link. The processor is configured to receive the input data from the light sensor device and effect a change in a characteristic of the device based on the received input data.
Abstract:
An inline fuse holder assembly encloses a fuse assembly including a fuse, and first and second wire connectors at respective first and second longitudinal ends of the fuse assembly. The inline fuse holder assembly includes first and second components including respective first and second connectors. The first and second connectors include mateable, non-releasable connection components configured to connect the first and second components to one another and form a substantially waterproof, non-releasable connection upon connection. The first and second components together define an enclosure for enclosing an entirety of the fuse assembly when the first and second fuse holder components are connected to one another.
Abstract:
A system is described herein for actuating at least one feature of multiple features of a device located inside an enclosure. The system can include a depressor extending through an aperture in a surface of the enclosure. The depressor can include a depressor shaft having a first depressor end and a second depressor end, where the first depressor end is accessible from outside the enclosure. The depressor can move between an undepressed state and a depressed state. The second depressor end can contact the at least one feature of the multiple features of the device when the depressor is in the depressed state.
Abstract:
A linear light emitting diode ("LED") light fixture includes LED modules that interface with one another to provide a substantially continuous array of LED's. This continuous array allows for substantially uniform light output from the LED light fixture. The LED modules can interface with one another via one or more connectors, which allow two or more LED modules to be electrically and mechanically coupled together. The connectors may be disposed beneath the LED's so that the connectors are not visible when the LED modules are coupled together. The connectors may be disposed along opposite ends of the modules to allow for end-to-end configurations of the modules and/or along side ends of the modules to allow for angled or curved configurations of the modules. The LED modules can be powered via one or more wires, magnets, or clips, which are coupled to a power source.
Abstract:
An emergency ballast for a fluorescent lamp includes a rechargeable battery. The emergency ballast also includes a circuit for receiving an electrical current and providing a recommended charging voltage to the battery. The electrical current is one of two amplitudes, and the circuit provides a charge to the battery without regard to the amplitude of the electrical current. The first amplitude of the electrical current can be 120 volts, and the second amplitude can be 277 volts. The emergency ballast includes a capacitor electrically coupled to the circuit that provides an additional voltage to the rechargeable battery when the electrical current is 120 volts. The emergency ballast also includes a switch for electrically decoupling the capacitor from the circuit when the electrical current is 277 volts.
Abstract:
Support clips and systems thereof are provided. Support clips include a web, a lower flange, and an upper flange. The lower flange extends from the web orthogonally. The upper flange extends from the web, towards the lower flange, at an angle. The lower flange includes an aperture for receiving a fastener. Systems include support clips of the present invention coupling a ballast housing to a mounting module. The lower flange is secured to the housing, and the upper flange engages the mounting module, such that the housing is supported by the support clip against the mounting module when in a latched position. A user is able to secure a fastener through the support clip aperture and openings in the housing and mounting module without having to use additional hands.
Abstract:
Removal of a conventional separable insulated connector from an electric power system often results in a shortened electric cable. An extender for a separable insulated connector enables the separable insulated connector to connect to a shortened cable. A conventional cable adapter is inserted into the extender, which includes a conductive connector for accepting the shortened cable and a conductive rod for carrying electric power from the shortened cable to the separable insulated connector. The extender also includes an inner semi-conductive layer that borders the conductive rod and compression connector, an outer semi-conductive layer, and a insulating layer between the two semi-conductive layers. The extender is inserted into a separable insulated connector, which is then connected to the electric power system.
Abstract:
An electrical connector, such as a bushing insert, with a fault-closure lockout feature includes a housing with an inner bore having opposite ends. One end has an opening providing access to the inner bore. A piston-contact element is movable between first and second axially spaced positions within the inner bore. During fault conditions, the piston-contact element moves from the first position to the second position to accelerate connection with a male contact of another electrical connector, such as a cable connector, thereby inhibiting the formation of flashover or electrical arc. After fault closure, a lockout member on the piston-contact element prevents moving the piston- contact element from the second position to the first position.
