摘要: A receptacle contact (110) includes a resilient contact arm (152) having at least one contact area (160) for contacting a mating contact (32). A support arm (164) is stamped and formed from an area of a wall (134) of the receptacle contact (110). The support arm (164) cooperates with the resilient contact arm (152) to support the resilient contact arm. An overstress member (167) is provided on the wall (134) of the receptacle contact (110). The overstress member (167) is formed to extend into the area of the wall from which the support arm (164) was formed. The overstress member (167) cooperates with the support arm (164) to prevent the support arm (164) from being moved beyond the overstress member (167) and beyond the area of the wall (134) from which the support arm (164) was formed, thereby ensuring that the resilient contact arm (152) and the support arm (164) will provide sufficient normal force to maintain a mechanical and electrical engagement with a mating contact (32).

摘要: A technique for tamper protection in an electronic device is disclosed. A conductive mesh is affixed onto one or more interior surfaces of the outer housing of the device. The mesh includes one or more conductive traces coupled to one or more detectors within the device. The detector can detect an open-circuit or short-circuit condition resulting from an unauthorized attempt to open the housing, and output a signal to trigger an appropriate countermeasure. The electrical contacts along the trace that are monitored can be selected differently from one manufactured unit to the next, and can be selected based on a randomness function. The selection of contacts may be made during or after manufacturing of the device. The mesh can include multiple metal traces that run very close together, in parallel, across one or more interior surfaces of the housing, allowing detection of both open-circuit and short-circuit conditions.

摘要: An integral sensor system is provided. In one embodiment, the system includes a sensor (28, 30, 38, 46, 66, 134) installed in a carrier (44) and a component (14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 68, 84, 98, 118) having a body (70) for receiving a fluid. The carrier is integrated into the component to enable the sensor to detect one or more characteristics of the fluid, and the carrier is integrated into the component such that an interface between the carrier and the component is a fully integral pressure boundary without a seal connection between the carrier and the component. The carrier can be welded (80, 94, 108, 124) to the component to form the integral pressure boundary. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
