Abstract: Methods and apparatus for forming an image using plural pixel devices are described. Methods and apparatus for determining the positions of a plurality of mobile devices are also described. The method of forming an image comprises forming a communication channel over an Internet Protocol (IP) network between each of the pixel devices (20) and a remote server(40) and calculating at the server a display attribute for each of said pixel devices in accordance with the image to be formed. The display attribute for each pixel device (20) is communicated to just that pixel device. The pixel devices (20) change their display in accordance with the display attribute to forma desired image.
