    Abstract: An improved repeater device for cancelling and/or reducing echo signals comprises an amplification line of an input signal received into an output signal to be transmitted and an echo-cancelling unit associated to the amplification line for reducing or cancelling an echo signal received, generated by the output signal and superposed on the input signal. The echo-cancelling unit comprises at least an echo-cancelling filter, impulse generating means associated to the amplification line and suitable for generating at least an impulse signal to be transmitted, estimation means for estimating the echo signal starting from the input signal and from the impulse signal transmitted, and means for updating the coefficients of the echo-cancelling filter starting from the estimated echo signal.
