Abstract: A urethane type dispersant comprising segments derived from: (1) one or more polyisocyanates having at least 2.0 isocyanate groups, (2) a mono-functional compound having an isocyanate reactive functional moiety; and (3) a polyamine having an amine functionality of two or more. The dispersant can be made in a solvent-free manufacturing process. The dispersant can be applied in water-based pigment dispersion system.
