Abstract: The blade (28) of the thread-cutting device is movable in a plane parallel to the thread catcher (33) and connected by a drive (45 to 58) provided with stopping sections (54, 55) with the drive of the thread catcher (33) in such a way as to be movable with the latter as far as the cutting position below the center of the eye of the needle. While the blade (25) of the thread-cutting device remains stationary in the cutting position, the thread catcher completes the thread-cutting operation. The blade (28) of the thread-cutting device moves back during the backward movement of the thread catcher (33) only after the threads have been cut. The drive (45 to 58) for the blade (28) of the thread-cutting device functions by interlocking engagement, which ensures reliable sectioning even of thick threads.
