    Abstract: An aramid paper suitable for use as electrical insulation comprising a first outer layer and a second outer layer, each of which comprising 70 to 30 weight percent aramid floc and 30 to 70 weight percent aramid fibrids, and each of which being free of mica and having a first face and a second face; an inner layer comprising 50 to 70 weight percent aramid material and 30 to 50 weight percent mica and having a first face and a second face; wherein the first face of the first outer layer is a first outer face of the aramid paper, and the second face of the first outer layer is coextensive with and bound face-to-face with the first face of the inner layer solely by fibrids in the first outer layer and the inner layer; and wherein the first face of the second outer layer is coextensive with and bound face-to-face with the second face of the inner layer solely by fibrids in the second outer layer and the inner layer, and the second face of the second outer layer is a second outer face of the aramid paper; the aramid paper having a total of 25 to 40 weight percent mica.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a multilayer laminate comprising at least three layers, wherein the two outer layers are each nonwoven backing sheet (7) containing a crystalline silicate mineral powder impregnated with a coating of an impregnating resin based on acrylate derivatives, which is suitable for increasing the compactness of the insulating sheet and for preventing the silicate mineral powder from detaching from the aramid fiber during use; the multilayer laminate having an inner layer being free of crystalline silicate mineral powder that comprises either i) heat resistant floc and binder, or ii) heat resistant polymeric film. The impregnating resin also comprises an organic solvent, which is capable of reducing the viscosity thereof and of promoting its deep penetration into the sheet. In addition, the impregnating resin comprises a UV polymerization photoinitiator which is suitable for curing the resin, only after said resin has been applied to the sheet and has penetrated deeply therein. The invention also describes the method for impregnating the insulating sheets.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-ply twisted yarn for a cut- resistant fabric, and the multi-ply twisted yarn comprises (i) at least a first single yarn (1) having a skin-core structure, wherein the skin comprises aromatic polyamide staple fibers (11) and the core comprises tungsten filaments (12), and (ii) at least a second single yarn (2) having a skin-core structure, wherein the skin comprises cut- resistant staple fibers (21), the core comprises at least an elastomer filament (22), and the cut-resistant staple fibers of the second single yarn are selected from one or more of aromatic polyamide staple fibers, aliphatic polyamide staple fibers and polyethylene staple fibers. The present invention further provides a cut-resistant fabric comprising the multi-ply twisted yarn and a protective product comprising the cut-resistant fabric.
