Abstract: The present invention relates to a multilayer laminate comprising at least three layers, wherein the two outer layers are each nonwoven backing sheet (7) containing a crystalline silicate mineral powder impregnated with a coating of an impregnating resin based on acrylate derivatives, which is suitable for increasing the compactness of the insulating sheet and for preventing the silicate mineral powder from detaching from the aramid fiber during use; the multilayer laminate having an inner layer being free of crystalline silicate mineral powder that comprises either i) heat resistant floc and binder, or ii) heat resistant polymeric film. The impregnating resin also comprises an organic solvent, which is capable of reducing the viscosity thereof and of promoting its deep penetration into the sheet. In addition, the impregnating resin comprises a UV polymerization photoinitiator which is suitable for curing the resin, only after said resin has been applied to the sheet and has penetrated deeply therein. The invention also describes the method for impregnating the insulating sheets.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for forming a cable configured to convey neuron signals. The method can include forming two longitudinal halves of the cable and bonding the two longitudinal halves together. Each of the two longitudinal halves can be formed on a respective substrate and includes a plurality of groups of conductive traces each in a respective layer of the respective longitudinal half. Each respective group of the plurality of groups of conductive traces can formed by depositing a respective insulating layer, patterning the respective insulating layer, depositing a respective conductive layer over at least a portion of the patterned insulating layer, patterning the respective conductive layer into the respective group of conductive traces. Each respective layer of the respective longitudinal half can have a width smaller than a layer formed prior to the respective layer, and can have a thickness that is within a range of 2 microns and 10 microns.

Abstract: Electronic telecommunication articles are described comprising a crosslinked fluoropolymer layer comprising fluoropolymer particles having a particle size of greater than 1 micron. In typical embodiments, the crosslinked fluoropolymer layer is a substrate, patterned (e.g. photoresist) layer, insulating layer, passivation layer, cladding, protective layer, or a combination thereof. Also describes are methods of making an electronic telecommunications article and method of forming a patterned fluoropolymer layer. The fluoropolymer preferably comprises at least 80, 85, or 90%by weight of polymerized units of perfluorinated monomers and cure sites selected from nitrile, iodine, bromine, and chlorine. Illustrative electronic communication articles include integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, antennas, and optical fiber cables. Fluoropolymer compositions are also described.
