Abstract:
An indicator composition can be used to detect various environmental conditions stimuli such as in sterilization or storage processes. This indicator composition has a) a first polymeric particle comprising a solid continuous polymeric phase and a first reactant, the first polymeric particle having a mode particle size equal to or less than 50 μm; and b) a second reactant outside of the first polymeric particle, which second reactant is capable of reacting with the first reactant when exposed to a chosen environmental condition stimulus. The indicator composition can be used by exposing it to the environmental condition stimulus for a sufficient time to cause a detectable change in the indicator composition such as a detectable color change.
Abstract:
An aqueous ink jet printer ink composition is designed for ink jet printing of fluorescent images. This composition contains fluorescent pigment particles that have (1) an excitation peak wavelength of at least 300 nm and less than 400 nm, and (2) an emission peak that is greater than 400 nm and up to and including 700 nm when exposed to fluorescent-exciting radiation. The non-polymeric fluorescent pigment particles have a median particle size that is greater than 10 nm and up to and including 500 nm, and the 95th percentile fluorescent pigment particle size is less than 150 nm. The composition can be continuously printed on various pretreated or untreated receiver elements or articles to provide a fluorescent image that can be detected when excited at the appropriate wavelength. The fluorescent image can thus be used as a security or identification mark for various purposes.

A laser-engraveable composition comprises one or more elastomeric rubbers including at least 10 parts of one or more CLCB EPDM elastomeric rubbers, based on parts per hundred of the total weight of elastomeric rubbers (phr). The laser- engraveable composition further comprises 2-30 phr of a near-infrared radiation absorber and either 1-80 phr of an inorganic, non-infrared radiation absorber filler, or a vulcanizing composition that comprises a mixture of at least two peroxides. One first peroxide has a t90 value of 1-6 minutes as measured at 160°C, and a second peroxide has a t90 value of 8-20 minutes as measured at 160°C. This laser- engraveable composition can be used to form various flexographic printing precursors that can be laser-engraved to provide relief images in flexographic printing plates, printing cylinders, or printing sleeves.
Abstract:
A digital camera for having a variable time duration burst capture mode, comprising: an image sensor; an optical system; a data processing system; a frame buffer memory; and a program memory. The program memory stores instructions including: specifying a first frame rate; initiating an image capture sequence; storing a sequence of digital images captured at the first frame rate in the frame buffer memory; determining whether the frame buffer memory has been filled to a predetermined capacity. If the frame buffer memory has been filled to the predetermined capacity, the program memory further includes instructions for specifying a second frame rate, wherein the second frame rate is lower than the first frame rate; designating a set of stored digital images that can be overwritten; and storing a sequence of digital images captured at the second frame rate in the frame buffer memory, overwriting the designated set of stored digital images.
Abstract:
Electrophotographic printing of one or more layers of toner to enable the printing of a wide range of toner mass lay down using electrophotography to produce prints with raised letters. This method encompasses the steps of forming multicolor toner images and fusing the print each time before a further toner image is formed, to create the raised print, having the desired height of raised print.
Abstract:
Presented herein is a sheet turning unit (1) comprising a first sheet conveyor device (2a) for transporting a sheet at least along a first transport path (B1) in a first plane (E1), and comprising a second sheet conveyor device (2b) for transporting the sheet along a second transport path (B2), said second transport path extending at an angle of 90° with respect to the first transport path (B1) and, in sum, describing a curve of 180°, whereby the starting point of said curve is located in the first plane (E1) and the end point of said curve is located in a second plane (E2) that is different from the first plane, and comprising a third sheet conveyor device (2c) for transporting the sheet along at least a third transport path (B3). As a result of this, the leading edge of the sheet remains in front even after the turning operation, and a precisely functioning and reliable sheet turning unit is being provided. Furthermore, advantageous embodiments of the first and third sheet conveyor devices are described, said devices enabling the transport of a sheet in two directions. The advantageous embodiments of the first and third sheet conveyor devices are compact and simple in design and can be controlled easily. The advantageous embodiments of the first and third sheet conveyor devices comprise a sheet transport body that, by means of a rotating mechanism arranged in the sheet transport body, can be rotated about a first rotational axis and a second rotational axis, said axes extending through one point of intersection and being perpendicular to one another.

Abstract:
A computer system having a processor and a memory for generating and storing a list of elements that are searched for in digital images. Occurrences of the elements in the images are indicative of a calendar season and, optionally, with a calendar month or another kind of season. The elements include weight values for indicating how strongly the element is associated with a season. The computer system automatically calculates a season determination value for each of the digital images and automatically selects images for use in a seasonal image product.
