The invention concerns a performance additive for accelerating and fluidifying concrete or industrial mortar compositions comprising: ° at least one water reducing polymer, ° at least one alkaline accelerator in a form of a salt containing at least one alkali cation and at least one kosmotropic anion, and ° at least one salt including at least one chaotropic ion. The invention also concerns a binder composition comprising: ° at least one hydraulic binder, and possibly ° one or more supplementary cementitious materials, and possibly ° one or more filler materials. ° said performance additive. The invention is further directed to dry concrete or industrial mortar compositions, in particular, coating, assembling mortars, repair mortars, technical mortars and mortars for floor covering comprising at least one aggregate and said binder composition. In addition, the invention relates to a process for preparing wet concrete or mortar compositions comprising a step of mixing said dry concrete or industrial mortar composition with water the wet or hardened concrete or industrial mortar composition obtained therefrom.

The invention aims at addressing the issue consisting in providing a GGBS-based binder or a mortar or concrete composition including said GGBS-based binder, which is not prone to develop an undesirable colour as the setting and the hardening occur. Hence, the invention pertains to a GGBS-based binder comprising at least one GGBS; at least one oxidation agent OA of the GGBS sulphur compounds, particularly of the species S 3 - of said GGBS sulphur compounds. The method for the preparation of the GGBS-based binder, the mortar or concrete composition and its preparation method, the wet formulation made from said composition and its preparation, the making hardened articles from this wet composition, and the use of at least one oxidation agent OA for discolouring GGBS-based concrete/mortar composition, are other objects of the invention.

The above objectives are reached thanks to a binder composition comprising: a. between 1% and 30% in dry weight of at least one lime source; b. between 5% and 75% in dry weight of ground granulated blast furnace slag; c. between 20% and 90% in dry weight of at least one filler; d. between 0.1% and 5% in dry weight, relative to the total weight of components a, b and c, of SO3-; e. between 0.1% and 1% in dry weight, relative to the total weight of components a, b and c, of at least one water reducer polymer; f. between 0% and 2% in dry weight, relative to the total weight of components a, b and c, of at least one activator different from d.; said ground granulated blast furnace slag being a particles mixture of : - between 10% and 100% in weight, in respect with the total weight of the ground granulated blast furnace slag, of particles having a d50 greater than or equal to 1µm and strictly less than 5µm, - between 0% and 90% in weight, in respect with the total weight of the ground granulated blast furnace slag, of particles having a d50 greater than or equal to 5µm and preferably less than 15µm, said filler being a particles mixture of : - between 10% and 90% in weight, in respect with the total weight of the filler, of particles having a d50 greater than or equal to 0,05µm and strictly less than 8µm, and - between 10% and 90% in weight, in respect with the total weight of the filler, of particles having a d50 greater than or equal to 8µm and strictly less than 200µm.

The invention relates to a slag-based binder or a mortar or concrete composition including said slag-based binder. The purpose of the invention is to propose a binder which is an attractive substitute to OPC-based compositions, environmentally friendly, cheap and competitive, more acceptable than OPC-based compositions, with respect to the sanitary and safety issues, which gives rise to wet formulations with appropriate rheological properties, i.e stable rheology during a the usual setting time ( e.g. one to several -3- hours) required by the users of said wet formulation, without increasing the W/B ratio and jeopardizing the mechanical properties of the hardened material obtained from this wet formulation. To fulfil this purpose, the invention is a Slag-based binder comprising: A. at least one slag; A'. optionally at least one CO 3 -containing mineral powder; B. optionally at least one co-binder different from binder A. and from CO 3 powder A'.; C'. optionally at least one co-activator C', different from C; C. at least one activator of the water/slag reaction; D. at least one chelatant and/or at least one source of chelatant, said chelatant being preferably a scale inhibitor; E. and, optionally, at least one superplasticizer different from the chelatant D. The invention also pertains to a kit to make the binder, a dry concrete or mortar comprising the binder and aggregates, a method for the preparation of a wet formulation (binder/water or concrete-mortar/water), and method of manufacturing buildings or civil engineering works or elements thereof, coatings, fillers, screeds, tiles adhesives and/or internal or external insulation systems, from the wet formulation.

The invention concerns an activating composition, in particular for concrete or industrial mortars containing hydraulic binder and/or pozzolanic material comprising: A) at least 40% by weight, preferably at least 50% by weight of calcium carbonate and/or magnesium carbonate particles having a d80 less than or equal to 15 µm, and a d50 less than or equal to 4 µm, and B) at least 1.5% by weight and up to 60% by weight of at least one alkaline metal salt. The invention also concerns a binder composition comprising said activating composition, and a component C consisting in at least one hydraulic binder. The invention is further directed to dry concrete or industrial mortar compositions comprising at least one aggregate and said binder composition. In addition, the invention relates to a process for preparing wet concrete or mortar compositions and to hardened concrete or industrial mortar compositions obtained therefrom.
