Abstract:
The sheet capacity of a pivoting feed head is combined with a complimentary pivoting design for the paper tray lift, such that a large total capacity of sheets is attained within a compact space, while allowing the lifting mechanisms to be located outside of the perimeter of the paper tray.
Abstract:
Discrete means of setting a feeder to process a wide range of media, i.e., sheets, slips, envelopes, booklets and hand collated documents, etc. as well as providing a method of utilizing the feeder for manual feed operation. The foregoing is accomplished by a friction-clutch retard feeder equipped with one or more friction clutches. When a selection lever is moved to a position 1, a primary clutch engages the separator roller with a resistive torque T 1 . The selection lever configures the mechanism such that the separator roller rotation is resisted entirely by the torque of the primary clutch. When the selection lever is moved to a position 2, the ground of the primary clutch is removed, and the rotation of the separator roll is coupled through a gear ratio to a secondary clutch. The selection of the gear ratio and the - value of the secondary clutch allows the separation mechanism to be resisted by a second torque, T 2 , which can be lower than T 1 .
Abstract:
Apparatus, systems and methods for use in three-dimensional printing are shown and described. Various embodiments of the invention allow for more precise and controlled delivery of heat to achieve interlayer drying; isolation of the working region from the outside for reasons of cleanliness and in connection with the vapors of organic solvents; better control of the temperature of the working region; better accuracy in the flowrates of binder fluid dispensed; matching of delivered flowrates for multiple dispensers; verification of delivered flowrate or drops; provision for easier changeover of the machine from one powder to another; cleanability; and other needs.

Abstract:
A software sign on sequence is provided that allows devices to negotiate how they will communicate, what data will be exchanged and how they will mechanically operate, when they are connected to each other. This avoids the necessity of supplying new software programs to each device which is time consuming and expensive.
Abstract:
The invention includes dispensing a suspension containing solid particles for use in manufacturing a dosage form or other biomedical article by 3DP. The suspension contains solid particles suspended in a liquid. The solid particles may be one or more Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. The solid particles may be particles of material that are insoluble in the liquid, or they may be particles of a substance that have already dissolved in the liquid up to the saturation level and are present in a concentration beyond what can be dissolved. In addition to solid particles, the liquid may also contain other substances dissolved in it, either substances containing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) or substances without API. One aspect of the invention includes prevention of agglomeration by adding one or more of several categories of additives to the suspending liquid. Another aspect of the invention includes manipulating the surface charge of the particles in an API suspension to prevent particles from agglomerating. A further aspect of the invention includes an amorphous API that has a greater bioavailability than the corresponding crystalline material. Yet another aspect of the present invention includes a system for providing continuous circulation of the suspension such that the solid particles remain dispersed in the suspension.
