Abstract:
Proposed is a process for recovering, from waste sludge, raw materials usable in the manufacture of paper, cardboard and carton. After precipitation of the coarse particles, the sludge is centrifuged to remove black particles and then divided by fractional straining into its fibre, filler, pigment and agglomerate components. The agglomerate component is shear-treated and again fractionated, while the fibres, fillers and pigments, following further treatment if necessary, are fed to their points of re-use.
Abstract:
A web (10) of material travelling at high speed is inspected using a light source (11) which directs a light beam (4) on to a rotating reflecting wheel (5) which projects the beam, via a stationary folding mirror (1) positioned centrally above the web (10), on to the latter. The folding mirror (1) is composed of at least two reflecting surfaces (2) which form an obtuse angle ( alpha ) with each other. As the reflecting wheel (5) rotates, the light beam (4) reflected from a polygonal facet (14) of said wheel skims all reflecting surfaces (2) of the folding mirror (1) in succession. As a result, the number of scans of the web (10) per polygonal facet (14) increases with increase in the number of reflecting surfaces (2).
Abstract:
The composition of the invention contains finely divided particles, with a diameter not exceeding 1 νm, together with a ceramic powder designed to form a matrix surrounding the finely divided particles, dispersed in a dispersion medium which has no oxidizing action on the finely dispersed particles and which has a surface tension not exceeding 35 x 10-6 N/mm and a dielectric constant of less than 6. On completion of the dispersion, the dispersion medium is removed and the particles converted into a sinterable mixture.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an upper sheet (coated black) for a carbon-copy system made of pressure-sensitive self-copying paper. The upper surface has a layer, designed to be printed on, made of pigment, binder and water-repelling agent, to increase the opacity and control the bonding properties for ease of sheet detachement.
Abstract:
A dull-coated printing paper for offset or intaglio printing contains 10 to 65 wt. % of unpasted starch grains in addition to calcium carbonate and binders in the coating slip containing the printing ink.
Abstract:
Bulbous tube burner for metal vapour discharge lamps made of transparent sintered ceramic are manufactured by assembling at least two rotationally symmetrical hollow bodies in the green state and then sintering them to obtain a single piece. A tubular central piece (2), for example, can be joined to funnel-shaped end pieces (1). The junction regions (3) can be in the form of conical (13) or hollow conical (12) seams or have denticulations.
Abstract:
Glass webs (5) are tested for the presence of defects (17, 26, 28) by scanning with a flying spot. The light which passes through the web (5) is directed to a receiver system (3) having transparent (7) and opaque (8, 8') regions. The photoelectric transducer (15) arranged in the receiver sends pulses dependent on the intensity of the incident light to a computer (6). By scanning the glass web (5) with two parallel light beams (2, 2') incident alternately on the glass web, testing can be performed with the same aggregate in the near dark field in direct transmission. The traversing device for the flying spot consists of a rotating polygonal mirror (9), whose reflecting surfaces (10) are half blackened, so that during rotation a blackened half (13) is followed by a reflecting half (14).
Abstract:
High-speed milling or drilling heads have adjustable supports (6) for cutting plates (11) provided with gripping troughs (1). The gripping troughs (1) are shaped like a section of a rotating body (30) the axis of which is inclined at an angle gamma to the covering surface (2). The longitudinal axis (8) of the gripping troughs (1) is inclined at an angle beta to the adjacent circumferential surface (24) and at an angle epsilon of 90 DEG to the direction of adjustment (X) of the adjustable support (6).
Abstract:
The ceramic cutting tool tip for machining by removal of chips is provided with a first face and a step for the forming of the chip. The first face (3) extends with an angle ( alpha ) of 15-35 degrees. It is connected to a groove (5) of which the cross section area is a circular segment of which the chord (6) forms also an angle of 15-35 degrees with the upper surface (4). The length of the chord is comprised between 0.5 and 1.5 mm. The radius (R) of the groove varies between 0.6 and 2.6 mm. In the angle of the cutting tool tip (2), the grooves (5) are interrupted and form a nose (8).
Abstract:
To determine the optimal size of catalyst particles, the particles are dispersed in an insulating matrix material having a different dielectric function from that of the catalyst particles, and the positive real part of the dielectric function of the catalyst particles is measured. The result is used as a measure of the catalytic activity.
