摘要: The control circuit comprises a charge pathway for charging a capacitor, and a discharge pathway for discharging the capacitor to a flash lamp, the charge pathway comprising a path including a sequence of conductors and electronic components which are common to and shared with part of the discharge pathway. The control circuit includes a selective channel for current flow from an electrical potential supply either via the charge pathway or via the discharge pathway. The use of such shared components reduces the size and weight of the control circuit and provides for faster charging and discharging of the capacitor.

摘要: The apparatus comprises a) a set of probes each having tips arranged to simultaneously touch the skinand define a predetermined pattern on the skin, at least one of the probes being arranged to transmit a pulsed electrical signal and at least one of the probes (which me be the same as or different to the transmitter probe) being arranged to receive the transmitted electrical signal; b) a signal detector for detecting the or each received electrical signal; c) means for comparing a numerical value obtained from at least one detected signal from the signal detector with at least one predetermined numerical value; and d) means for providing an output when said value obtained from the detected signal differs from the predetermined numerical value by more than a predetermined amount. The apparatus is used to control intense pulsed light devices used for local treatment ofvarious skin conditions and to influence non-desired hair growth.

摘要: The present invention relates to FOXP2 and in particular to the use of FOXP2 in treating or identifying patients with cancer. More particularly the invention discloses a method of treating a disorder in a patient characterised by reduced expression of FOXP2 protein, which method comprises, administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutic amount of any of a nucleic acid molecule encoding said FOXP2 protein, FOXP2 protein or a composition capable of stimulating an increase in FOXP2 protein expression in the tissues of said patient. Also covered by the application are further methods, compositions, vectors, kits and assays relating to FOXP2.

摘要: A computing device with an embedded microprocessor or micro-controller, including a software stack which comprises a content manager, and a runtime environment positioned in the stack above or together with a hardware abstraction layer. The content manager is not specific to any one design of runtime environment or hardware abstraction layer, so that several different designs of runtime environment and/or hardware abstraction layer can each operate with the same content manager. This de-couples the content manager from the runtime environment and/or hardware abstraction layer (e.g. a Java Virtual machine; elements of the operating system). The core advantage is that a single content manager can be used across multiple runtime environments and/or hardware abstraction layers; runtime environments and OSs can therefore be swapped without needing to re-write the content manager.
