Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of structural ceramics and concerns the production of ceramic or powdered metal components, e.g. drills, screws, etc. The purpose of the invention is to provide an economical process for making a highly wear-resistant component. In the process of the invention for producing components with a screw-like outer shape, a powder mix or a slip is made and inserted into a mould, the internal shape of which corresponds to the outer shape of the component. The mould is made of an elastic material, is fully or partly compartmented by one or more separating planes and may or may not have (a) transverse divider(s). The purpose of the invention is also attained by obtaining a component inside which there are one or more screw-shaped, cylindrical, conical or geometrically irregular recesses, hollows or passages.
