Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for processing a material, the material being the upper layer from a metal melting process, the material containing one or more salts, the material containing one or metals, are provided. The method includes feeding the material to a size reduction step; feeding the material from the size reduction step to a density based separation step; feeding the material from the density based separation step to a leaching step. The size reduction stage is optimised to provide exposure of material for a ferrous and non-ferrous metal separation. The ferrous separation is preferably provided by an eddy current separator. The non-ferrous separation is preferably provided by a cyclone.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a system and method for routing data packets adaptively in a communication system. As the proliferation of data rich content and increasingly more capable mobile devices has continued, the amount of data communicated over mobile operator's networks can continue to exponentially increase. One way to accommodate increased data traffic and provide high quality data communication services to end users is by utilizing network resources efficiently. This disclosure provides systems and methods for efficiently utilizing network resources by providing adaptive intelligence to data packet routing systems.
Abstract:
Apparatus and a method of handling a molten metal processing by-product are provided in which the by-product is placed in a container unit and put in the apparatus, the apparatus including an element having a first position outside of the container and a second position in which at least a part of the element is in the container so as to compress the by-product and exclude oxygen from it. The element also serves to transfer heat from the contents of the container unit to the element and so provide cooling. The element can then be returned to the first position, the container unit be removed and placed at a cooling location for final cooling.
Abstract:
At least one exemplary embodiment discloses a system, computer program product and method for evaluating the value of a legal document such as a patent related document. In accordance with at least one exemplary embodiment, a Latent Semantic Analysis ("LSA') search engine can search a database of patent-related documents to identify an "N" number of patent-related documents deemed thereby as relevant to a target document and indices of the target patent-related document can be compared and scored against the indices of the relevant identified patent-related documents. At least one exemplary embodiment evaluates a plurality of indices of patent-related document value using legal, commercial and/or technological factors.
Abstract:
The present invention provides rotenone analogs and methods of making and using them. Labeled with single photon and positron emitting isotopes, the rotenone analogs of the present invention are useful in, for example, clinical imaging applications as tracers to measure cardiac blood flow and detect regions of ischemia.
Abstract:
The valve closure (e.g. an A-type closure) has a closure body (1) for attachment to a container, a gas inlet port (14), a liquid dispensing port (25), and a valve member (6) to sealably close the gas inlet and liquid dispensing ports. An over-pressure relief valve (40) is configured to release gas from within the container in the event that an internal pressure limit is exceeded, and a user-operable depressurising lever (50) is arranged to permit the over-pressure relief valve to be manually opened. The over-pressure relief valve (40) comprises a plunger (53) which is urged against a seat (52) by a spring (57), and the depressurising lever (50) incorporates an abutment (58) for the spring (57). The plunger (53) includes an arrowhead formation (59) by which the depressurising lever (50) engages the plunger to hold the valve open during manual operation. The depressurising lever (50) incorporates an integral hinge (62) which also forms a frangible connection so that the lever becomes detached from the closure body and permanently opens the over-pressure release valve when manually operated.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a post-treated salt of a sulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic composition which is a reaction product of (a) a salt of a sulfurized alkyl- substituted hydroxyaromatic composition, wherein the alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound is derived from alkylation of a hydroxyaromatic compound with one or more olefins comprising C9 to C18 oligomers of monomers selected from propylene, butylene or mixtures thereof, (b) a source of an aldehyde and (c) a primary and/or secondary monoamine compound having at least one active hydrogen. The post-treated salt of a sulfurized alkylhydroxyaromatic composition disclosed herein has a reduced content of unsulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound and its unsulfurized metal salt as compared to the content, by combined mass, of the unsulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound and its unsulfurized metal salt present in the non-post-treated salt of a sulfurized alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic composition.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided to allow detection of the load conditions on network devices. The load detection can occur using a mobility management device to track establishment of sessions and attempts at session establishment to determine the loading conditions on various network devices. This information can then be used by a selection logic to determine which devices are selected to send session establishment messaging for new session establishment requests. This can provide quicker setup times as highly loaded network devices or network devices experiences other failures are selected less until conditions are back to normal.
Abstract:
A system and method of distributing one or more of a software application, a database, and a document search and retrieval means across a network of two or more servers. Individually, or collectively, one or more servers are accessible by a client computer that has permission to access the network. In an exemplary configuration, the present invention is comprised of an application service distributed between one or more host servers on the Internet and one or more appliance servers and clients located behind a network security access point, with one or more authorized clients and the appliance in communication across the network security network access point with one or more ASP host servers on the network.
