An axial movement linear gauge includes a support and protection structure (21) that defines a longitudinal axis, a spindle (11) movable along the longitudinal axis with an external surface on which a longitudinal groove (12) is achieved, a feeler (14), a position transducer (32), a thrust device (36) for thrusting the spindle with respect to the support and protection structure, guide devices (22) for guiding movements of the spindle along the longitudinal axis with respect to the support and protection structure, and an antirotation system for preventing rotations of the spindle about the longitudinal axis that includes antirotation elements (50,51), stationary with respect to the support and protection structure, cooperating with the longitudinal groove. The guide devices can be integrally embodied with a locking element that cooperates with the support and protection structure for defining an operative position of the guide devices with respect to the support and protection structure.

Gauging head and apparatus for the linear dimension checking of mechanical pieces comprising an integral element (1) that defines an arm (5) carrying a feeler (25), a reference portion (3), and a fulcrum (13) that enables rotations of arm (5) with respect to the reference portion (3), and a differential transformer position transducer with a cylindrical shaped casing (35; 82), carrying the windings (34; 83), fixed to the reference portion (3), and a ferromagnetic core (32; 84) movable together with the arm (5). The integral element (1) is locked in an adjustable way to a support (67), by means of the cylindrical casing (35; 82). The integral fulcrum is achieved by work hardening the material and subsequently grinding it.

The geometrical features of a part (6) having centre seats are electronically checked by processing signals of gauging heads (14-17) that relate to linear dimensions of the part together with signals of other gauging heads (30, 31) adapted to define a reference geometrical axis. In order to obtain checkings of high accuracy, the reference geometrical axis is defined by means of two gauging heads (30, 31), each of which has a feeler (67, 72) movable along the three directions that is adapted to cooperate with a respective centre seat.

A fulcrum device for movably connecting-in a checking device such as a gauging or measuring head (1)-a feeler (8) to a bearing frame (2),includes a plate (10, 30) with a deformable section and an integrated transducer, for example a strain gauge (20). The integrated transducer is fastened in a seat (18) of the plate, and a protection system for the transducer features e.g. a closure plate (18) closing the seat. The plate can be made of steel, and the closure plate can be a steel sheet fixed to the plate by laser welding. A checking device and a modular system including such a fulcrum device are also part of the invention.

An apparatus for checking linear dimensions and other features of workpiece (42) comprises a base (2), which carries rest devices (40) for supporting the workpiece to be checked with the geometrical axis horizontally arranged, and a support structure (88) to which gauging heads (170, 230) are coupled. The support structure (88) can rotate about a horizontal axis to carry the gauging heads (170, 230) from a rest position to a working one. The axis of rotation of the support structure (88) is obtained in correspondence to a vertical geometrical plane passing through the workpiece axis, when the latter is placed in the checking position, and is located below the workpiece axis, for getting easy loading and unloading operations of the workpiece (42).

A plug gauge (1) includes a support and protection system that defines a longitudinal axis with a handle (2) closed by a cap (13) that includes electronic devices for the wireless transmission of electrical signals representative of a dimension to be checked, and a probe (6) including a measuring armset coupled with a transducer for generating electrical signals. The probe is connected to the cap of the handle by means of an interface element (8) that includes mechanical references to prevent rotations of the probe with respect to the handle about the longitudinal axis.

A checking system includes a gauge (1) with movable feelers, a position transducer adapted to provide electrical signals representative of displacements of the feelers, a wireless transmission system for transmitting the electrical signals and a battery electrically connected to the position transducer and to the wireless transmission system. An inductive charge device for contactless charging the battery includes a stator (20) with primary windings and secondary windings in the gauge (1). The charge device further includes a quick coupling/uncoupling mechanism (40) between the gauge and the stator, comprising a coupling element (31) and a matching element (6) adapted to mutually cooperate.

A checking apparatus, for example a plug gauge, for checking diameters and/or geometrical features of mechanical parts includes a support structure (1) and checking means (20,21) coupled to the support structure, with mutually movable feelers (36) for contacting the surface of the part and transducer means for providing electrical signals. The support structure includes at least two studs (11,12) that achieve a guide along a longitudinal axis, and the checking means are coupled to the studs in a removable and adjustable way along such longitudinal axis. Several checking means can be coupled to the studs . A particular embodiment foresees three flanked studs and checking means coupled to pairs of adjacent studs. An adapting system allows the feelers to self-center on the part to be checked, for example the surface of a hole.
