Abstract:
A communication between a client device (2) and a peripheral unit (14) uses tunnelling over another communication mode. The other communication mode is implemented between the client device and a host device (1), in addition to a communication mode implemented between the host device and the peripheral unit. The host device and the client device are each provided with additional communication modules (3-6), at application level and transport level. Security issues against intrusions into the communication may be implemented by the modules added to the host or client unit.

The present invention relates to an energy information apparatus (12) for generating and displaying energy saving information for a predetermined location including one or more devices (14, 16, 18, 20) influencing the energy consumption at said predetermined location (10), said apparatus comprising: a weather data storage means (22) for storing current weather data and/or weather trend data for the predetermined location (10), a processing means (24) for determining one or more recommended device settings and/or user actions and a related energy saving information indicating the amount of energy and/or the energy costs saved by setting one or more of said devices to the respective one or more of said recommended device settings and/or performing one or more of said recommended user actions based on the current weather data and/or the weather trend data, and a display means (26) for displaying the one or more recommended device settings and/or user actions and the related energy saving information.

A device is equipped with local storage arrangement such as HDD and a removable optical storage carrier input device. Removable carriers include storage applications that necessitate storage space for storing data items. A storage management unit allocates storage space of the local storage arrangement to the inserted removable optical storage carrier and the application stored therein. The management unit also attributes to the portion identification information respecting access rights granted to the application with respect to data items stored in the allocated portion. The application is given no access to data items stored outside the allocated portion.

A wireless docking system comprising a dockee device (110, 210) and a docking station (220), the dockee device (110, 210) docking with the docking station (220), which docking station comprises: first means for establishing a first network connection (215) for connecting to the dockee device (110, 210) and second means for establishing a second network connection (225) for connecting to a wireless network access point (130, 230). The docking station (220) is configured to, in a first step, to establish a secure wireless connection between the docking station and the dockee for receiving from the dockee device (110, 210) information for accessing the wireless network access point (130, 230), and, in a second step to establish a secure wireless connection between the docking station_and the wireless network access point by connecting to the access point (130, 230) using the information received from the dockee device (110, 210) for the connection the docking station further configured to enable tunneling traffic between the dockee device (110, 210) and the wireless network access point (130, 230).
