Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention generally related to a method and apparatus for scanning a v-bank filter. In one embodiment, an apparatus for scanning a v-bank filter includes a hollow body having first and second ends. An outlet, formed at the second end of the body, is adapted for coupling a testing device to an interior volume of the body. A plurality of holes are formed through the body and are fluidly coupled to the interior volume. In another embodiment, a method for scanning a v-bank filter includes inserting a probe having a plurality of sample ports into a filter adjacent a filter pack, and traversing the probe along the filter pack. In yet another embodiment, a method for scanning a v-bank filter includes scanning a slot of a v-bank filter with a probe, and collecting samples of gas passing through the filter and probe
Abstract:
A housing assembly having an integrated damper with a linear drive mechanism is provided. In one embodiment, the housing assembly includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet. A damper is disposed in the housing and is positionable to regulate flow entering the housing through the inlet. A linear drive mechanism is operably coupled to the damper and is adapted to linearly move the damper between positions that are spaced-apart from the housing and a position that closes the inlet. The linear drive mechanism is configured to move the damper linearly without rotating the damper.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention generally include a contamination housing assembly and bag for use therein. In one embodiment, a contamination housing assembly includes a housing having an inlet, outlet, and access port. A bagging ring is coupled to the housing and circumscribes the port. A door is provided for covering the port. A bag indicator is coupled to at least one of the containment housing or door and is visible, when in a first position, from an exterior of the containment housing when the door substantially covers the bagging ring. In yet another embodiment, a bag for use with a containment housing is provided. The bag has an open end configured to engage with a bagging ring. The bag includes at least one of a strap or a RF readable tag.
Abstract:
A filter module configured for exhaust application, and a method and apparatus for testing the same are provided. In one embodiment, the filter module includes a downstream sampling port configured to allow a technician to sample flow, downstream of the filter module, from the cleanroom side of a filter module. In another embodiment, a shroud adapted to sealing engage a filter module under test is provided and includes a tube, disposed in the shroud, that couples a port to a downstream sampling port of the filter module.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention generally provide a containment system having integrated bubble tight-dampers. In another embodiment, the containment system includes an integral auto-scan mechanism disposed in the housing of the containment system so that a filter element, disposed in the housing, may be leak tested without accessing the interior of the housing. In yet another embodiment, a method for testing a filter disposed in a containment system includes challenging an upstream side of a filter element disposed in a housing of the containment system with a test aerosol, and automatically moving a probe disposed within the housing to obtain samples for leak testing.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention generally provide a filter module having a mechanically positionable test probe disposed therein and a method for testing a filter. In one embodiment, a filter module includes a housing adapted to receive a filter element. A sample probe suitable for leak testing the filter element is disposed in the interior volume of the housing. The sample probe may be moved to scan the filter by an actuator. In another embodiment, a method for testing a filter includes challenging a room side of a filter element disposed in a housing with a test aerosol, moving a probe disposed within the housing to obtain samples for testing and determining if the samples exceed a predefined leak criteria.
Abstract:
A filter module and method for facilitating rapid flow setting and/or cost-effective balancing of airflow through a plurality of filters is provided. In one embodiment, the filter module includes at least one port configured to provide a metric indicative of flow through the housing assembly. In various other embodiments, at least one port is utilized for sensing differential pressure across a flow restrictor, such as a damper assembly and/or a diffuser plate of the housing assembly, an orifice plate disposed in a collar or ductwork coupled to collar, and the like. In another aspect of the invention, a method for replacing an air filter is provided that includes the steps of replacing an air filter disposed in a filter housing assembly, and setting a damper position using a damper position indicator to return air flow through the filter to a predetermined rate.

Abstract:
A filter system having in-situ scan capabilities is provided. In one embodiment of the invention, the system includes a downstream probe which may be rotated to scan the field of a filter installed in the system. The probe may be utilized for leak detection, velocity measurements, efficiency testing and the like. In one embodiment, one or more probes are rotated downstream of the filter to scan the downstream face of the filter.
