Abstract:
A lighting fixture (10) comprising a housing (12, 14) and a cooperating light panel (20), the housing comprising securing means (16, 16a) for securing the light panel (20) to the housing when in a securing position, and circuitry means (19, 40, 46, 48, 50) for powering the light panel (20) thereto, and wherein the light panel (20) and housing are adapted to cooperate by the provision of engaging guidance means (60, 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d). The engaging guidance means enable quick and easy installation of the light panel (20), and further provide easy access for future maintenance.
Abstract:
A lantern type luminaire comprises a lantern shaped body, having a light source receiving portion and a light releasing portion, the light releasing portion having one or more sides in which at least one aperture is provided through which light can escape the lantern shaped body, and an LED light source, disposed wholly within the light source receiving portion, for emitting light into the light releasing portion to exit the lantern shaped body via the at least one aperture. This arrangement reduces glare because the light source is not viewed directly under normal viewing angles. Further, any degradation in the light source is only perceivable in terms of the amount of light output by the luminaire - there is no concept of undesirable visible effects such as bulb blackening.
Abstract:
A light fitting comprising: an aperture; a light guide member comprising an edge portion and a reflective and/or refractive pattern; a light source including one or more light emitting diodes arranged with respect to the aperture and the edge portion of the light guide member such that a substantial part of the light emitted by the one or more light emitting diodes passes indirectly through the aperture by reflecting from the reflective pattern of the light guide member through the aperture.
Abstract:
A light fitting comprising: a housing defining an aperture and a cavity; a reflector at least partially located within the cavity of the housing; and a light source including one or more light emitting diodes arranged with respect to the housing and reflector such that a substantial part of the light emitted by the one or more light emitting diodes passes indirectly through the aperture by passing through at least part of the cavity and reflecting from the reflector through the aperture.
