Abstract:
A light fitting comprising: an aperture; a light guide member comprising an edge portion and a reflective and/or refractive pattern; a light source including one or more light emitting diodes arranged with respect to the aperture and the edge portion of the light guide member such that a substantial part of the light emitted by the one or more light emitting diodes passes indirectly through the aperture by reflecting from the reflective pattern of the light guide member through the aperture.

Abstract:
A window light box (2) with blind (30). A light source (20) within the light box (2) provides light through a front aperture (12). A blind (30) is mounted to a light box front (10), and is extendable over the front aperture (12). The blind (30) and/or light (20) source may be colored; the blind (30) may be opaque, translucent, or transparent. The light (20) source is electrically connected to a power source (26) through a switch (22), which may be an ON/OFF dimmer switch. An alternate embodiment is disclosed wherein the light (20) source is electrically connected to a power source (26) through a switching receiver (44), and a remote (40) controls the receiver (44). A battery (24) back-up is disclosed to power the light source (20) in the event of power source (26) interruption. The light source (20) may be fluorescent, incandescent, serpentine light (50), a Christmas light string, LED, or other appropriate light source.
Abstract:
A reflector plate having such a form that two lines start at one point on a circle enclosing an emission source having a cylindrical, spherical or similar shape and extend toward opposite sides to form two symmetrical involutes and a straight line connecting the opposite ends of the two curves are substantially circumscribed with the circle, whereby an emission from the emission source can be perfectly and uniformly emitted from an opening without being shielded at all, so that the efficiency is greatly improved and a uniform emission can be obtained. An assemblage of a light or heat emitting source with the involute reflector plate provided at the predetermined position makes it possible to give an illuminator or a heat radiator with a high efficiency of uniformly emitting the light or heat from the reflector opening.
Abstract:
A luminaire includes a earner having a mounting surface, at least two %M- emitting diodes, each light-emitting diode having a radiation exit surface, an optical element having a radiation entrance surface, wherein the light-emitting diodes are arranged on the mounting surface of the carrier, the optical element is arranged on a side of the light-emitting diodes facing away from the carrier, and the radiation exit surface of each light-emitting diode is optically coupled to the radiaπon entrance surface of the optical element
Abstract:
A switchable compact fluorescent lamp with an L.E.D. added to the center of the top of the compact fluorescent lamp plastic electronic encasement housing. The L.E.D. can be switched on with the fluorescent on or switched to be on by itself with the fluorescent off. The lamp can also be switched to a battery and or capacitor power backup for the L.E.D. when the power goes off.
Abstract:
An acoustic housing, a light fixture, a suspended ceiling system, and a method of decreasing sound transfer from a light fixture in a suspended ceiling are disclosed. An acoustic hood for a light fixture in a suspended ceiling may include a partially enclosed space formed between a plurality of wall portions. A light fixture may include first and second layers that are coupled to one another and form a partially enclosed space. A suspended ceiling system may include the acoustic hood or light fixture. The method relates to disposing an acoustic housing spaced from the light fixture.
Abstract:
A ceiling tile system comprises modular acoustic light-emitting modules (10) which can be of a standard size to be fitted into a hung ceiling or other ceiling system in conjunction with similar acoustic light-emitting modules or conventional ceiling tiles. Each acoustic light-emitting module includes a backing panel (12), a cover (14), and a rigid spacing member (16) extending between the backing panel (12) and the cover (14), with solid state light-emitting elements such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) (18) arrayed within each module. The cover may be made of fabric including metallic threads to enhance the diffusion of light. In one embodiment, two arrays of LEDs (18) are provided on respective modules. The arrays may be driven independently or together. The LEDs (18) provide shades of white light or colored light, as desired. The cover (14) and lighting elements may be readily removable from the backing panel (12) for ease of maintenance.
