Abstract:
A light emitting diode (LED) lighting roadway lighting fixture and housing is provided. The lighting fixture comprises a center section enclosing a power supply for the LEDs. Two LED sections are positioned on either side of the center section and angled towards the center of the lighting fixture and the plane to be illuminated. LED engines are mounted on the LED sections to illuminate the plane.
Abstract:
A method and a power supply for use with a light emitting diode (LED) module is provided. A power factor correction (PFC) circuit switches a flyback converter to provide power supplied to the LED module. A current controller is for monitoring voltage and/or current for operation of the LED module and determining a feedback for correcting the voltage and/or current to provide constant light output of the LED module. The feedback is provided to the PFC circuit via a feedback circuit having an optical isolation device for providing isolation between the primary and the secondary side of the flyback converter. The feedback may be adjusted by sinking or sourcing current to or from the feedback circuit.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling a streetlight is provided. GPS data is required from a GPS coupled to a process of the streetlight. A geographic location of the streetlight is determined from the received GPS data. A real local time is determined from the GPS data and a sunrise and sunset time associated with the geographic location can then be determined. The on and off state of one or more LED lighting modules of the streetlight can then be controlled upon the determined sunrise and sunset times.
Abstract:
A high efficiency light emitting diode power supply for roadway lighting fixtures is provided. The power supply enables conditioning and monitoring of input power and monitors LEDs current to ensures consistent performance of the LED by changing a power correction factor. The LED output can also be adjusted based upon age or external input parameters and by modifying the power correction factor value. In addition, the LED output can be dimmed, turned down in output to a lower level at any time of night for a prescribed duration in order to further save energy. This dimming function uses a programming scheme that keeps track of the "seasons" (summer, fall, winter and spring) so that time of night is tracked accurately all year long.
Abstract:
An optical module for an lighting fixture for providing roadway illumination. The optical module comprising circuit board having a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs). A reflector cups surrounds each of the plurality of LEDs, the cup comprises a narrow end surrounding the LED and a larger opening at a second end opposite the LED. A refractor lens cover comprising a plurality of molded lens, each lens positioned at the second end of the reflector cups.
