Abstract: Known fuel-air mix injection devices can only be adapted to individually required air mass flows within limits and at high cost. Other devices with standard injection valves occupy a large space and have a complex structure. A new device has the advantage of being a prefabricated part capable of being used with various fuel injection valves without further adjustments. The air containing sleeve (4) has stop faces (26) that rest on the injection end (6, 20) of the fuel injection valve (1) and form with the latter a narrow air gap (27), so that the air is accelerated almost to sonic speed and finely atomizes the fuel injected through the fuel injection openings (8). This fuel-air mix injection device is particularly useful for injecting the mix in the inlet manifold of a spark ignition internal combustion engine.
