Abstract:
A segmented articulating conveyor is provided that is articulable between a straight configuration and an articulated configuration. The segmented articulating conveyor has a plurality of conveyor segments (5, 6) forming a conveyor system. The conveyor segments (5, 6) are pivotally connected to one another to permit manual articulation of the conveyor system between straight and articulated configurations. A belt (2) is operably engaged with the conveyor segments (5, 6), the belt (2) being configured to accommodate an arc of the conveyor system when in the articulated configuration. A motor (1) is operatively engaged with the belt (2) and configured to move the belt (2). An associated method is also provided.
Abstract:
An automated rack unloading apparatus (1) for automatically unloading a container from a rack shelf is provided. Such an apparatus (1) includes a frame (2) and a carriage assembly (3) operably engaged with the frame (2). The carriage assembly (3) travels vertically to align with a rack shelf on which a container to be unloaded from the rack shelf is located. The carriage assembly (3) has a first end and a second end. A spoon (9) is pivotally connected to the first end of the carriage assembly (3) at a pivot point. A retractable support mechanism (10) is operable to lower a leading edge of the spoon (9) with reference to the pivot point to thereby downwardly incline the spoon for insertion under the container. An associated method is also provided.
Abstract:
A method of destacking or restacking standardized containers used in poultry hatchery operations using robotic means involves the step of moving a container from a conveyor onto a box transport dolly or vice versa. The box transport dolly is dimensionally secured within a dolly docking station adjacent a robot. A quantity of eggs may be transferred into the destacked container.
