Abstract: The invention refers to a heating unit (9) for a vehicular fluid heater (3). The vehicular fluid heater (3) comprises a heating element, a pulsewidth control switching unit (32) which is connected to the heating element (20) and a control unit (31) which is connected to the switching unit (32) and which produces a control signal (33) within an adjustable pulsewidth. The pulsewidth of the control signal (33) produced by the control unit (31) depends on the actual temperature of the heating element (20), so that the control unit (31) in combination with the switching unit limits the temperature of the heating unit (9) to an adjustable target temperature (figure 11).
