Abstract: A refuse collection apparatus comprises a receptacle 15 into which articles of refuse can be deposited via a chute 13. Sensors 2a, 4a, 2b, 4b detect when an article is deposited and activate a display 3 so as to display a game, either by displaying the results of the game or by displaying a game which can be interacted with. The result of the game determines whether a prize has been won which is indicated to the user. Further screens 11 are provided on the apparatus to provide advertising space, the screens 11 being interactive and providing access to information about the products and services advertised.
