Abstract:
The present invention is concerned with a method, a network entity and computer program for detecting occurrence of transmission resynchronizations in a network carrying packets subject to variable delays. The present invention is further concerned with adaptively varying the play out time of data packets. According to a method embodying the invention, the packets are received at a network entity and forwarded by the network entity by delaying them of a jitter protection time. The method comprises determining (S110) for a predetermined time period a set of arrival time jitter values comprising values corresponding to jitters of data packet arrival time for at least a plurality of the received data packets. The method further comprises determining (S120) a peak to peak value indicating the largest difference among the values comprised in the determined set of arrival time jitter values and detecting (S130) an out of range condition when it is verified that at least one arrival time jitter value is larger than an upper threshold or at least one arrival time jitter value is smaller than a lower threshold. Moreover, the method comprises comparing (S140) the peak to peak value with the jitter protection time, when the out of range condition is detected and detecting (S150) that a resynchronization occurred on the basis of the comparing.
Abstract:
An IPv6 mobile node is described herein that compresses a packet such that the compressed packet which includes an outer IP header, a compressed inner IP header and data can be sent within a bi-directional tunnel via one or more IP networks to a remote device (e.g., home agent, correspondent node, another mobile node) . The IPv6 mobile node can also compress the outer IP header in the packet in addition to compressing the inner IP header if it is located in a wireless access network. The remote device can compress the packet in the same manner and send it to the IPv6 mobile node.

The method includes receiving the video signal [VS] at the video receiver [10], measuring at the video receiver [10] at least an indicator of the received video signal [VS], the at least an indicator being different from a packet loss rate, calculating at the video receiver [10] a new target rate based on the current target rate of the received video signal [VS], the at least an indicator, and at least a reference, and transmitting from the video receiver [10] the new target rate to the video provider [32] to adapt the current target rate.
Abstract:
A method for discriminating a telephony content signal into a first category or a second category is described. The method comprises a filtering procedure for obtaining from the telephony content signal a band signal set comprising one or more band signals, each band signal being associated with a respective frequency band at least one of said band signals being a sub-band signal (n) associated with a sub-band of an overall frequency band of the telephony content signal. Furthermore a determination procedure is provided for determining a band signal variation value (LLn) and a band signal strength value (TLn) for each band signal (n) of said band signal set. Finally, a discrimination procedure discriminates whether the telephony content signal is of the first category or of the second category. The discrimination procedure comprises one or both of an unconditional and a conditional step for evaluating a relationship of the band signal variation value (LLn) and said band signal strength value (TLn) for said sub-band signal (n).
Abstract:
A method of dynamically adjusting the buffer delay of an adaptive jitter buffer of a network node receiving packets of a media stream from a packet switched network. The method comprises inserting packets arriving to the network node into the jitter buffer and executing a jitter buffering procedure once every Trep in , wherein Trep in is equal to the jitter buffer play-out interval. Executing the jitter buffer procedure involves updating a jitter protection time, T jit , 1wherein T jit defines a current target value for the maximum buffering delay, on the basis of the variation of the number of pending packets, N in the jitter buffer.
