Abstract:
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a display apparatus, control system for the display apparatus, and a method for controlling the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive content, a display configured to display the received content, a communicator configured to communicate with a user device and an external server. The display apparatus includes a processor configured to acquire information from the user device through the communicator, to request the external server to send additional information related to the received content based on the received content and the information, and to display, when receiving the additional information related to the received content from the external server, the received additional information with the received content.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a memory and a processor operatively coupled to the member. The processor is configured to receive a first data communication signal via a first communication channel. The processor is configured to receive a second data communication signal via a second communication channel different from the first communication channel. The processor is configured to combine the first data communication signal with the second data communication signal to define a combined data communication signal. The processor is configured to send the combined data communication signal to a multimedia device such that the multimedia device displays data associated with the combined data communication signal to a user.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a memory and a processor of a communication base station and operatively coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to receive a first signal from a control station via a first protocol. The first signal is associated with a data signal. The processor configured to receive a second signal from the control station via a second protocol different from the first protocol. The second signal associated with a video signal. The processor configured to send, to at least one client communication adaptor from a set of client communication adaptors, the first signal via a first output interface specific to data signals and not via a second output interface specific to video signals. The processor configured to broadcast the second signal to the plurality of client communication adaptors via the second output interface and not the first output interface.
Abstract:
A head-mounted display image delivery system in combination with a head- mounted display (HMD) device, the image delivery system and the HMD device are local to one another: the HMD device comprising: one or more displays; one or more sensors to determine movement, position and attitude of the display; and one or more image inputs configured to receive image data for direct display on the one or more displays without image processing by the HMD from the image delivery system, the image delivery system being configured to communicate a stereoscopic image to the HMD system to convey image information to a wearer, wherein the image delivery system comprises: one or more inputs to receive sensor data from the sensors; one or more image inputs configured to receive pre-processed image data for direct display of the field of view on the one or more displays without image processing by the image delivery system; one or more image outputs to deliver image data for direct display on the one or more displays of the field of view without image processing by the HMD system.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Particular embodiments use a multi-view coding (MVC) extension to provide second-screen content along with the first-screen content. In one embodiment, a head-end multiplexes the first-screen content with the second-screen content into a single content stream. The second-screen content is added to the video stream according to the MVC extension requirements. At the user end, such as at a gateway, instead of sending the first-screen content and second-screen content to the first-screen device, the gateway de-multiplexes the first-screen content and the second-screen content. The gateway can then send the first-screen content to the first-screen device while caching the second-screen content. When the gateway determines that the second-screen content should be displayed on the second-screen device, the gateway can send the second-screen content to the second-screen device for display on the second-screen of the second-screen device.
Abstract:
Methods and systems provide synchronized sharing of multimedia between multiple devices. The multiple devices may form an ad-hoc network for sharing of multimedia. In an embodiment, group members may have playlist manipulation privileges such as pausing, rewinding, fast forwarding, or adding tracks to the playlist (116). A system may stream or distribute content according to the shared playlist (116). Playback may be synchronized for group members so that everyone is exposed to a same part of the content at the same time.
