The system of virtual handover for mobile IP roaming mainly comprises inventive modules of a mobility decision module (14) for triggering handover process between the networks, a bridge manager (15) for controlling and managing egress interfaces (13), a probe module (16) for relaying and querying information between modules of the system, and a network sniffer (17) for monitoring the egress interfaces (13).
Abstract:
A system (10) for power management with optimized connectivity in handoff of mobile device (11) between heterogeneous network (12, 13, 14) said mobile device (11) comprising a power management module which obtains power state information of said mobile device (11), and a network interface management module which includes a prioritized set of network interfaces (12, 13, 14) to enable said mobile device (11) to select for optimum quality of connection according to the power state of said mobile device (11).
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a system to deploy quality of transmission and a method thereof. The system includes a module (10) translating at least one multicast packet to at least one Media Access Control (MAC) packet. The system further includes queuing and scheduling the at least one MAC packet based on user assigned ratio of importance. The user assigned ratio of importance may be based on multicast address, source address or MAC address or any combination thereof.
Abstract:
A method of providing a multicast service announcement using a hypertext transfer protocol for sending a service announcement from an announcement server to at least one receiving node, the receiving node communicating only with said announcement server to access said service announcement. The announcement server periodically checks for said signaling message from said sending node. The said hypertext transfer protocol announcement is able to communicate with a real-time transport protocol associated with multimedia streams.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and system for use in providing multiple gateways within a network. A plurality of border routers (100, 200, and 300) is added preferably in between the mobile router (150) of the respective network and foreign routers so as to enable consistent connection. The border routers, among others are (100, 200, 300) suitably configured to serve as proxy advertisers for foreign routers (500), and to send out notifications with respect to their active or inactive status to the mobile router (150) of the network so as to enable the mobile router (150) to select the preeminent border router (100, 200, 300) for forwarding packets within the network.
Abstract:
A method of optimizing the quality of multicast services over a wireless network by dynamically controlling a broadcast rate, comprising: suppressing an automatic rate fallback protocol so that a broadcast data rate is not limited to the base data rate; transmitting a multicast data stream from an access point to a plurality of nodes; detecting if there is any data loss in the said multicast data stream; and lowering the data rate for each node incrementally if there is any data loss, until the data loss reaches an acceptable level or until the said minimum rate is reached, whichever happens first.

Abstract:
A method to allow a more efficient routing in Network Mobility by means of a mobile router deciding on a more efficient route to be taken as it roams between networks comprising the steps of starting a delay counter when the mobile router performed a handoff from one network to another network, deciding whether performing a Route Optimization is necessary based on the delay counter, stripping of a parent subnet from a new Care-of-Address, comparing the parent subnet with home subnet, deciding whether the mobile router is performing a micromobility or macromobility, deciding whether the mobile router is roaming in its parent network or in/between foreign networks and selecting an appropriate Route Optimization method based on type of mobility performed.

Abstract:
A method (200) and system (100) for encapsulating multicast packets into unicast packets, the system comprises a TCP/TP communication stack having means for receiving a plurality of incoming multicast packets from an incoming wireless module (102), a first translation module (106) having means for translating the plurality of incoming multicast packets to a recognizable format for mapping, an intelligent hashing table (110) comprises means for storing a extracted subscriber IP address, a subscriber MAC address and a TTL period, a second translation module (114) comprises means for translating the unicast packets to a format recognizable for transmission, means for transmitting the unicast packets into an outgoing wireless module (116) and mapping modules comprises of a first mapping module (108) and a second mapping module (112). The mapping modules (108, 112) comprises the method of extracting the subscriber IP address, the subscriber MAC address and the TTL period from a plurality of incoming multicast packets (302), storing the subscriber IP address, the subscriber MAC address and the TTL period in an intelligent hashing table (304); encapsulating the plurality of incoming multicast packets into a plurality of unicast packets (306), forwarding the unicast packets for mapping (308) and multiplying the unicast packets in the presence of multiple subscribers (310).
