摘要： This invention relates to a saw mill for sawing logs, comprising a base on which there is arranged a stationary means for reception of a log, a saw device provided with an endless band saw blade, which device is carried by a means that is arranged on the base and is movable in relation to this one in a direction which is essentially parallel with the longitudinal direction for the imaginary log, the band saw blade having two essentially horizontal portions which during sawing have a motion direction that is essentially perpendicular to the intended motion direction of the means carrying the saw device. According to the invention the means carrying the band saw device (1) comprises a sledge (2) or the like, positioned in the saw mill on one side of the stationary means (24) for reception of the log. Furthermore, the sledge is slidable on at least two elongated, essentially parallel prisms (8, 9), which function as a guide and dolly means for the sledge with the band saw device, and which has a longitudinal direction that is essentially parallel with the longitudinal direction of the imaginary log.
