Abstract: A method of making a touch fastener (10, 11, 50) includes coextruding, side­by-side, a plurality of lanes of polymeric material to form a sheet-form base (12). The sheet-sheet form base (12) includes a lane (14) of a first polymeric material disposed between two lanes (16) of a second polymeric material, the second polymeric material is different from the first polymeric material. The method further includes molding a plurality of discrete fastener element stems (212) extending outwardly from and integral with the sheet-form base (12) in each of the two lanes (16) of the second polymeric material and forming engageable heads (18, 214) on the stems (212).

Abstract: A method of forming a fastener product is provided that includes providing a continuous, sheet-form base having an array of fastener elements (18) including molded stems (34) that extend outwardly therefrom. The sheet-form base is split between adjacent rows of the molded fastener elements (18) to form elongated fastener filaments (22). The fastener filaments (22, 26) are twisted individually to reorient the fastener elements (18) to extend in multiple directions from a common core.

Abstract: A hybrid absorbent foam includes an integrated hybrid foam layer having an open surface, a closed surface, and a foam body extending between the open and closed surfaces.
