The present disclosure relates to compressible, multilayer articles useful in force sensing capacitors. The compressible multilayer articles include a silicone polymer layer having a first major surface and a second major surface and a first primer layer having a first major surface and a second major surface, wherein the thickness of the first primer layer is from about 100 nanometers to about 100 microns and at least a portion of the first major surface of the first primer layer is adhered to and in contact with the first major surface of the silicone polymer. The multilayer articles may include at least one of a first electrode and second primer layer. Methods of making the compressible, multilayer articles are also disclosed.

A cellular cushioning system (200) includes cells or support units (204) arranged in one or more stacked arrays (206, 208). The cells are hollow chambers that resist deflection due to compressive forces, similar to compression springs. The arrays are attached to one or more intermedial binding layers (210). The intermedial binding layer(s) links the cells together while allowing the cells to deform independently of one another. An external load compresses of one of the void cells within an independent compression range without significantly compressing at least one void cell adjacent the compressed void cell. The independent compression range is the displacement range of the compressed void cell that does not significantly affect the compression of adjacent void cells (205, 207). If the void cell is compressed beyond the independent compression range, the intermedial binding layers may be deflected and/or the void cells adjacent the compressed void cell may be compressed.

Composite cushioning structures with spatially variable cushioning properties and related materials and methods for producing same are disclosed. In one embodiment, gradient property foam (GPF) is provided and comprised of a two or more phase composite cushioning structure comprised of a spatially variable disposition of one or more second non-solid phase cushioning component into a first solid phase cellular cushioning component to control the local cushioning properties of the final composite cushioning structure. The second cushioning component(s) can be selected to exhibit other cushioning properties when in solid form from the cushioning properties of the first cellular cushioning component in this embodiment. In one embodiment, the second cushioning component(s) can undergo a transition from the non-solid phase into a solid phase within the first cellular cushioning component to form a bond with the first cellular cushioning component to form the composite cushioning structure.

A high temperature flexible pipe and method of making a high temperature flexible pipe is provided. The pipe can have an inner tubular layer formed of a high temperature thermoplastic, a first reinforcing layer, a second reinforcing layer and an outer sheath. In one aspect, an insulating layer may be provided between the second reinforcing layer and the outer sheath. A method of making a flexible pipe is also provided. The first reinforcing layer is wound around the inner tubular layer and the second reinforcing layer is wound around the first reinforcing layer. An outer sheaf can be formed over the second reinforcing layer. In another aspect, an insulating layer can be formed over the second reinforcing layer before an outer jacket is formed over the insulating layer.

Die beiden nicht vom treibmittelhaltigen Schaumstoff umschlossenen Enden der jeweiligen Faser (F) ragen somit aus einer Seite des entsprechenden Formkörpers heraus. Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist außerdem der Formköper als solcher. Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Paneel, das mindestens einen solchen Formkörper, hergestellt nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren, sowie mindestens eine weitere Schicht (S1) umfasst. Außerdem Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Paneele sowie deren Verwendung, beispielsweise als Rotorblatt in Windenergieanlagen.
