Abstract: Aspects of the invention may relate to a treatment device and method for providing plasma treatments of lenses. The treatment device for treating a lens, included in an operational device, may include: at least one first electrode located in proximity to a first surface of the lens, such that the first surface is to be treated by the treatment device; at least one second electrode; and an RF generator electrically associated with the electrodes for providing RF energy to the at least one first and at least one second electrodes in an amount sufficient to generate plasma on the first surface of the lens.

Abstract: A plasma generation device for treating objects, the device comprising: a housing; a plasma-generation zone within the housing configured to enable accommodation of an object; circuitry for supplying energy to carry out a plasma treatment for increasing hydrophilicity of the object to a desired level; at least one sensor configured to measure at least one plasma-activation parameter during the plasma treatment; and at least one processor configured to: determine, based on the at least one plasma-activation parameter, that the plasma treatment is below a threshold for increasing the hydrophilicity of the object to the desired level; and output a notification indicating of plasma treatment failure.

Abstract: Provided are methods of immunizing a viewport of a medical device against fogging before or during a medical procedure, and related apparatuses and devices. The methods comprise applying plasma to the viewport prior to use, thereby rendering a surface of the viewport highly hydrophilic. The methods eliminate or at least significantly reduce blur due to fogging.
