A method for including a feature in an article manufactured from a maraging stainless steel comprises the steps of focusing an energy beam on the article at a temperature of at least 1000 °C in a nitrogen-free atmosphere. The beam generates intense energy and melts/vaporizes the maraging stainless steel and thus includes the feature along with austenitic edges. The article is cooled to a temperature of between 0 °C and -80 °C, in order to subject the austenitic edges to the isothermal martensitic transformation. The article is finally hardened at a temperature between 375 °C and 600 °C to cause particles in the edges to precipitate out from solution into martensitic structure.

A shaving element (11) which is intended for use in a shaving device comprises cutting members (10), wherein it is possible to drive the cutting members (10) in such a manner that a size of cutting openings (15) between cooperating cutting members (10) is continuously varied. The cutting members (10) are provided with relatively sharp cutting edges (14), so that a hair which is caught in a cutting opening (15) is cut off when the cutting members (10) delimiting the cutting opening (15) are moved towards each other and the cutting opening (15) is closed. The cutting edges (14) are located at the same level, so that it is achieved that cutting off hair takes place at skin level, as a result of which excellent shaving results are obtained. In various embodiments, the shaving element (11) is manufactured on the basis of a single sheet (18) of material.
