Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a bearing ring (1) of a rolling element bearing, which bearing ring (1) has a base body with at least one raceway for a roller element. To facilitate the production and to minimize the cost of the same the method according to the invention is characterized be the steps: a) Arranging a tubular ring body (2), which ring body has a bore (3) with an inner diameter (D); b) Placing at least one ring-shaped raceway element (4) in the bore (3) of the tubular ring body (2), which raceway element (4) has a maximal outer diameter (d) which is smaller than the inner diameter (D) of the tubular ring body (2); c) Placing a mandrel (5) in the tubular ring body (2) and in the at least one raceway element (4), which mandrel has an outer circumference (6) for supporting the raceway element (4) at its inner circumference (7); d) Exerting an outer radial pressure onto the tubular ring body (2), so that the tubular ring body (2) is at least partially plastically deformed, wherein the outer radial pressure is created by an electromagnetic pulse; e) Removing the mandrel (5) from the created unit consisting of the tubular ring body (2) and the at least one raceway element (4).
